My temper wouldn't tolerate most of these comments. I'm too pretty for jail, so I'm glad I kept my surgery to myself.

" You were not big enough to need surgery"
"Dont loose too much"
"How much can you eat now"
"Do you feel weak"
"You look old"
And the most annoying
"I liked the way you looked before surgery"

Just got told that!! Exact words : you're not fat enough for Bariatric surgery!
Well apparently my dr thinks so! ????

My personal favorite.....You really didn't look like you needed to lose that much weight. REALLY??? Were you blind?

"That's the easy way out!" yes...so easy to have someone cut me open and remove 85% of my stomach. Recovery is a breeze and now I sit and watch tv while the weight falls off. (hope you all read the sarcasm there!)

Omg this is my same problem! I called my doctor basically losing my mind. I don't understand why everything is a sweet and the broth taste like water! I was sleeved November 8th

Hello I had gastric sleeved on Nov 7 and My Dr still has me on liquid diet. He told me to drink plenty fluids and eat sugar free Jell-o, pudding, Popsicle's, Protein shakes and some cream Soup...nothing soft yet not even the noodles. My question is how do you guys manage such diet if you can't stand sweets?? Every time I gotta have something it's a Sweet thing, I can't stand it!!! I don't have a sweet tooth at all and sweets make me nauseated. Any ideas or suggestions could help tons!!! Thanks a Trillion!!

Exactly, it's so disheartening that people aren't more supportive, especially people that have been pushing for you to loose weight then when you decide to have a little extra help it's a problem. My surgeon warned me of relationship changes, and sad thing is I haven't even had the surgery yet and so many relationships have suffered due to it, but good riddance, if it's my health over a person I'll most definitely choose my health

I agree, I made the mistake being so excited telling some choice family members and friends, and the responses from most of them were so unreal. It's like they can't phathom you loosing weight. Hearing things like "you're beautiful the way you are" and "don't loose too much weight" took a toll on me, so I decided to not talk about it anymore, but this site def has been a great encourager even through the hard times. I fainted once about two months post-op, and then was close again five months out. I went to the ER, but they couldn't give me a definite answer as to why. I think it was from low Iron, and not enough liquids/protein. I also have had times when I've felt light-headed while in the shower.

my mouth was so dry i would wake up in the middle of the night feeling like my mouth was a desert! it will pass i'm now 6 weeks out and this feeling is gone but i remember it and i thought something was seriously wrong.

Thank you. It's not severe. It's spasm like and pretty uncomfortable after I eat or drink but then calms down. It's right in the center of my belly, right below by breast bone. I did start back to the basic diet. I have also tried taking more gas meds and Zantac and nothing seems to help.

OMG..I GOT SLEEVE LAST WEEK!!!!!!! IM 6 DAYS POST OP..and right now,i,was telling my husband i feel so,hungry. I lost 2 pounds yesterday and i gain 2 today. This,post gives me so much hope....

Oh my god THANK YOU for this. I am a week post op tomorrow and I feel like I'm crazy for wanting chicken wings and burgers and food. like I know I can't do it but like I can't stop thinking about food or anything. This brought me much relief. Thank you!!

I'm on day 10. My mood is very raw. I am tired and cranky. Poor hubby and kids can't seem to be able to stay out of my way. I feel so bad. I'm getting in all the Protein but struggle with Water. Have lost 9 pounds. Although I'm not hungry, I can't wait to be able to eat different foods.
