  1. It took me 4 weeks. I got my period twice after surgery and was not in the mood what so ever, lol. Since then he can't get me to stop, lmao! ????
  2. I'm a nurse. I'm drinking coffee and my surgeon knows. Lol. I straight up said. I will do 6-8 weeks no coffee/ caffeine. I can't guarantee after that time. Lol
  3. I'm a RN on a surgical unit and get all gastric sleeve patients. I had the surgery by one of our docs. Catheter was placed in the OR. Stayed in until he next day until you went for go series to check for a leak. If negative, catheter came out. Trust me - they will not put it in while your awake. Taking it out - there is some discomfort. May have some notes blood (male patients) expected to urinate within 6-8 hours and it will be measured. Drink (whatever your allowed) and your iv should be at a relatively higher rate 150ml/hr. If you have trouble urinating (they do a bladder scan) but trust me you'll pee! good luck!
  4. Sounds like a kidney tract infection. Are you staying hydrated? I'd go to your primary and have them send off Some blood work and urine samples, maybe an ultrasound. Feel better
  5. Love fair life. Not loving the $5 a bottle price though. Thanks Coke a cola!
  6. Got it right before surgery, surgery was delayed a week, then got it 5 days post up and then got it 3 weeks later. Surgery/weight loss does crazy things to your body. Lol totally common. Just let your nurse no pre op.
  7. I'm getting married Nov 2016. I'll be one year post op and I will be having at least 1 glass of champagne and eating whatever my sleeve tolerates. Lol just sayin!
  8. Right now I'm about 3 weeks post op pureed and I can eat about 2oz of protein and 1 oz of fruit/veg and I typically don't finish it. I have 3 meals a day and typically either 1 protein shake or 1/2 small snacks like a low fat cheese
  9. I was distended and bloated for a good week. I felt like you could pop me with a pin. Lol keep walking
  10. Pillows pillows pillows!!! Stacked them up in my bed like 5 of them lol I could not sleep on my side comfortably for at least 2 weeks.
  11. I've had it since 11/19 my surgery date. On pureed and it's a bit better but still liquid. My doc was concerned yet. They recommended trying to get rid of milk as well, didn't seem to help one way or the other. They will just continue to monitor it.
  12. Been thinking about you since your original post. Your son is such a strong man, he clearly takes after his mom. Take it day by day, hour by hour of you have to. The cookie idea is such a sweet touch and in sure he will love it. I think your handling your sleeve very well!!! Every day won't be perfect. I'm still struggling with my fluids/protein and in going on 3 weeks. My continued thoughts and prayers to you and your family xo
  13. Leave the number of whoever you want updated so the doc can call after surgery
  14. I did not have a leak. They do a leak test in the OR and post op day 1. (Typically) Having a leak is one of the worst complications you can have, you go to the OR immediately to have it repaired. Can happen weeks after surgery as well.
  15. I'm 3 weeks post op. I ate a small bite of stuffing at dinner. I'm obviously not supposed to have carbs. Bad Leslie!
  16. I didn't use a straw I used a spoon lol, I let a lot of it melt and then just sipped the liquid
  17. I felt like I needed something really cold. 20 cals 0 sugar 0 fat 7 carbs for 8 oz. Is this starting down a bad path? I want opinions. To much carbs? I'm going on 3 weeks post and on pureed. I'm not talking about an everyday thing.
  18. Don't worry ladies! I managed to avoid the milkshake it was pretty darn tempting which is weird because I'm not a huge ice cream lover lol.
  19. Haha! I can't believe I did! That quote is sooooo true!!
  20. Lol.... He goes " I thought you could have ice cream on your diet because it's soft." ( 2 weeks post op) He is 25 and adorable but now I have a large chocolate shake sitting in front of me. Lmao. Looks delicious!
  21. Are you running fevers? Any blood in stool? I'd call your doctor asap.
  22. Sleeved 11/19 happens every time I drink. It's annoying. Some peoples goes away others no. Try smaller sips for now.
  23. I'm 29 post op 2 weeks. 25 pounds down. I can't say it's been easy but in the end it will be worth it. I'm 5 4 and started at 289. Good luck on your journey!
  24. Congrats! That's normal. Just try again. Glad your recovery is going well so far!!
