Living on Protein Shakes is not healthy by any means. Doctors recommend getting protein from other sources as soon as possible. You may be losing weight, but eventually your body will starve because you are not giving it any food. Losing weight is important, but it is not everything. Health is more important. not eating and just living on protein shakes is not healthy. Good luck to you. I am curious as to what will happen when you eat normal foods again?

It is unlikely you will feel "full" on full liquids or even puree. They go through your sleeve quickly. Don't eat based on being "hungry" or "full". True hunger is unlikely at this stage. Get your Protein and fluids - don't worry about anything else but following your plan.

As soon as I mentioned feeling hunger, my doctor said it was actually acid and that I needed a stronger acid medication. Once I started that, no more "hunger."

First, you are NOT a failure. Yes, you may have things you want to do differently, but a Detour along your journey doesn't mean you can't get back on track.
Honestly, I would get some counseling to explore why you are self-sabotaging. There may be something about being successful that is scary for you.

10 days is a bit far out - it's more common to see a slight fever (up to 101) from postop inflammatory response.
How is her hydration? Another thing that causes fever is dehydration.

you are doing exactly what you need to be doing. you will find a PCP who is willing to work with you. one step at a time. we've all had long and winding roads to surgery, and set backs. hang in there.

For one thing, if cheese is your main concern, cheese is very, very low in lactose - the cheesemaking process breaks it down.
If you could handle broccoli and cheddar Soup, I would suspect that your pudding issue was something else. Or nothing, except normal postop fluctuations.
    Take heart, and keep trying!

People who make a printout or copy and when they go to retrieve it, find the copier jammed and instead of following the onscreen instructions how to remove the piece of paper (or at the very least tell someone who may be able to clear it) they just walk away.
What do they think, that the copier fairies come out at night when everyone goes home and clear out the paper jam?

My rant for today.....Why as women do we have to lose our boobs as we lose weight? It's bad enough that I noticed those being the first to go, but I swear I came close to cutting a nipple while shaving my legs this morning. Anyone else? No? Ok never mind then.
On a serious note.....If my boobs touch the floor before my hands, can I count that as a toe touch?!?!?

I am driving a truck and fully loaded horse trailer down the highway. I am doing the speed limit (or maybe 5 over) minding my own business in the right lane. Invariably, someone passes me, cuts over in front and slams on the brakes. I think they can't see around the rig so they want to get around me but want to drive slower, but MAYBE they just have a death wish. The reason I leave a gap in front of me is because the big truck and trailer can't stop as fast as your Prius... Getting in front of me and hitting your brakes defeates the whole purpose of the safe stopping distance. Its very annoying and dangerous and happens frequently.

Your body is going to go through so many changes in the coming months -- so don't assume much about causes of these change and certainly not that any changes you go through are permanent.
Just watch for patterns. And then be open-minded about those patterns changing.

Five years ago today my divorce was finalized. It was the end of a rough process. It isn’t easy separating your life from someone who you had been with for 21 years and had four children with. It also means that even though we are divorced, we will be seeing each other during every major life event in our children’s life.
With that reality in mind, I had a couple of goals when I went into this process five years ago…
    #1 – Kids
Make sure they always know that I love them, they are not at fault and I will always have their back. Also never work to separate them from their mother, and to never disparage my ex in front of the kids. I never wanted my kids to think they had to choose between us.
#2 – Get out with as much dignity as possible
I wanted out with as little public embarrassment, and with as little financial cost as possible. But I also knew that my ex was going to have a harder time than I would getting started again. So for the last five years I have been paying her alimony. I made my final payment last month.
I understand some men (and women) get caught in some very bad situations because of sudden job loss and alimony can become inherently unfair. But in my case I thought it was important to supplement my ex’s income to help her maintain her dignity as she began a new chapter in her life. I didn’t want my kids to think I threw her to the curb to fend for herself.
The financial entanglements with my ex have now ended, and I wish her the best.
I hope the kids see their parents as people who had their differences and could no longer live together, but never stopped loving and looking out for them. We will always be your parents, we love you and we have your back, always.
All that said I think I have met my goals. I recently looked at my blood work from six years ago and what it is now. Six years ago I saw a person who was going downhill rapidly. This year's is nearly perfect. Thanks to WLS my health has never been better.
My attorney told me, if you want to get revenge in a divorce, live a happy life. If she is miserable because of it, that is on her. If she isn't, well you have a happy life.

From what you describe, you likely aren't eating enough to keep losing. I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but you need to eat enough to lose.

@@Cari Dickenson, early on, your sleeve may be too swollen and not producing enough gastric enzymes yet to process raw veggies easily, but one veggie is not the same as another. Tomatoes (cut up) and shredded lettuce were easy for me from about 8 weeks out. I often make a batch of taco chicken for the week and eat it over shredded lettuce with tomatoes, salsa, and a little light sour cream. Mini taco salads are muy bueno.
I am 12 weeks out today, and I got a salad from my fave place for lunch. I got a half-portion of the salad, and ate about a third of that. I'll have more tomorrow for lunch. It has lettuce, carrots, mushrooms, cucumbers, peppers, and tomatoes (along with chicken, a half an egg, some avocado, and a sprinkle of bacon). No trouble digesting it whatsoever.

Based on some of the things you've stated that your surgeon has told you, I think it might be a great idea to preface your posts with, "My surgeon told me..." or something similar instead of stating it as fact.
He's told you some whacked stuff. Seriously.

I'm Mexican. We ate lots of healthy foods, I just ate too much of all of it.
My staples are carnitas, carne asada, guacamole, Beans, queso fresco, salsa...
    I avoid tortillas, masa, rice.
