  1. Hi, TriAgain!! I haven't logged in for a couple of weeks, so I didn't see your post. Dr. Cox is really nice. I'm so glad I chose him and Catawba Valley Medical Center to do my lap band surgery. Let me know if you want my phone number. I will be glad to e-mail it to you.
  2. I haven't posted in forever!! I hope everyone is doing well!! I went for my first fill at the end of March, but the doctor said I was losing well, and he didn't want to do one. He did tell me that I already had 3 cc's in my band from when he did my surgery on 2/27/08. I did make an appointment with him for next Wednesday to get a fill. I'm still losing, but very slowly. For over 2 weeks, the scales didn't budge. I am thankful that I haven't gained, though. I am experiencing hunger pains. My stomach growled so loudly in church last Sunday that I was embarrassed!! I've lost 41.5 pounds, but 18 of those pounds were lost before I was banded. I guess I just wish the weight would "fall off" faster. Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't have gotten gastric bypass surgery...
  3. My MySpace web page is listed below in my signature line if anyone would like to add me as a friend!! :rolleyes2:
  4. ReadySteadyGo: We had lap band surgery on the same day! Cool! lol I ate a half of a piece of wheat toast yesterday evening. I was fine. Are you looking forward to your first fill? I get my first one tomorrow! :biggrin2:
  5. Skinny Jill, Shortgal, RealBTuna, Coltonwade, Jachut, MollyMolly, and Aggie: Thanx for the info.!! It's great to have somewhere to go for lapband information!! I luv this site!!
  6. Thanx for the info., Pizzaman!!
  7. GraceUtah: That is weird... I guess I'll just have to "test" different kinds of bread and see how I do. My doctor's office was like "no bread", and then I read about all these people eating bread...I was perplexed!!
  8. I have 143 lbs. I want to lose. I try not to think about the total amount. I'm taking it a few lbs. at a time. The last time I weighed I was 260.5. I'm just concentrating on getting in the 250's. When I get in my 250's, I'll concentrate on getting in the 240's, etc. I just think I can "handle" all this better if I take it a few pounds at a time!!
  9. Thanx, Losingjusme!! I guess this is going to have to be a "trial and error" thing!! I did eat a piece of really crispy wheat toast this past weekend and did just fine. I ate very slow and chewed it really well before I swallowed it.
  10. Congrats, Kristin!! That's wonderful!! My size 24's are really baggy. I have some size 22's that I plan to try on when I get home!!
  11. Thanx so much, Sades!! That's good to know!!
  12. I'm staying on plan today, because I have to go get a fill on Wednesday. This means I will be "weighing in" again at the doctor's office!!
  13. I'm a little confused about the whole "bread" situation. I was told "no bread", because it "doughs up" and doesn't digest well. Then, I noticed that I can have "crisp toast". Is the only way I can ever eat bread again is to make sure it's toasted really well?? Does this mean I can never eat plain white or wheat bread, or hamburger and hotdog buns, or anything like that without "toasting them"?? I've read about people eating biscuits, croissants, wraps, etc. on here. I'm a little confused!! Thanx to anyone willing to answer this question for me!!
  14. CantWaitToGo: I think after we start getting fills, the weight will come off faster. I'm looking forward to it!!
  15. I'm staying on plan today because I ate too much last night and the food felt like it was "stuck in my chest" and was very painful!!
  16. I was banded on 2/27/08, but I started cutting back on my own after the first of the year. I have lost a total of 30.5 lbs. since 1/1/08. Good luck to everyone!!
  17. I want my fill now!! lol Seriously, congrats to everyone for getting their first fill. I go on Wed., 3/26, and I can't wait!! JaxBandster: I'm glad it didn't hurt at all. I hope mine doesn't, either!! lol
  18. ld0008: My pain has FINALLY gone away!! I had my surgery two weeks and two days ago. I haven't had the pain in the last three or four days. It's been soooo nice!! I hope your's goes away very soon!!
  19. Did you get a fill today? I think I saw on another thread that today is fill day for you! I get my first one on 3/26. E-mail me and let me know how you did!

  21. JaxBandster: It's good to know that the hernia repair might be the reason for my left shoulder pain. Yes, it's uncomfortable when I burp (chest pain). I'm so glad not to have acid reflux anymore. It was getting worse and worse before my surgery... Congrats on getting past that plateau!!
  22. My dietician told me to eat all of the sugar free Jello and popsicles I wanted when I felt hungry. It's not much, but at least it's "something"! I start on the pureed/mushy food today. Thank goodness! I never thought I would be so excited over eggs, cheese and cottage cheese! lol
  23. SunShynne: I had to do Clear liquids for my pre-op. I don't think I actually lost that much on the pre-op diet. I think my body thought I was trying to starve it, so it was "holding on"!! I had already been cutting back on my food intake before then and had lost several pounds before I even started the pre-op phase. I hated the clear liquid diet. I'm glad you're not having to do it! Good luck and keep me posted on how you are doing! I had to be at the hospital at 6am (my surgery time was 7am). I was my surgeon's first surgery of the morning, also. :]
  24. Thanx for the advice, everyone!! I've been using the Gas X Strips, walking around, and using my "deercorn" heating pad that I warm up in the microwave. From what some people have told me, I think it just takes time! It's getting a little better with each day that goes by. JaxBandster: Yes, I did have a hiatal hernia repair. My surgeon said it was bigger than what he thought once he "got in there". He had to repair it first before he could do my lap band.
  25. SunShynne, Let me know how things go!! I know we have to jump through hoops to get this surgery...
