Did anyone have terrible gas pain in their left shoulder?? :thumbup: I have tried everything, and it just keeps coming back. Any suggestions?? How long does it take to just GO AWAY??!! I've been banded for one week today. Thanx for any advice!!

I was banded on 2/27 (last Wed.). My stomach has definitely "growled" a few times!! lol I'm on the clear liquid and thin liquid stages. I am looking forward to the pureed/mushy food stages in about a week. My doctor will do my first fill 4 weeks from surgery. My post-op appt. is this coming Thursday morning. I'm hoping they will schedule my first fill appointment when I go! We all have to hang in there, girls!!

Smylie1, How are you doing with everything? Did Libby ever get your stuff from Dr. Hoffman?? That's cool that you work at Ray Childers. I bet you enjoy it there! I'm being banded tomorrow (2/27). I'm starting to get nervous... I also worry about failure. I guess that's just normal!!

I would love to get a cookbook!! I won't be banded until tomorrow, though. I'll keep in touch. I thought about going online and see what comes up for "recipes for lap band patients"... If I find some good recipes, I will e-mail them to you!

Cyrstal, I've had problems with the anasthesia making me sick with past surgeries, so I told them that when I had my pre-op interview at the hospital. They are going to give me something to take before they "put me under". I know how bad that feeling is after you wake up!! I've had that happen to me twice after surgeries, and I definitely don't want to have it happen again!! I hope you are doing well today!

My surgery is this coming Wednesday (2/27). I will be staying overnight and released the next morning. My surgeon's office requires an overnight stay in the hospital.

Kim: Concord isn't that far away. I've met a really nice lady from Concord through MySpace. I know her MySpace Name is "Bebe", but her name is actually Lynn. I think she said "Roc Bauman" or something like that did her surgery. Joanna: That's cool that Dr. Cook did your surgery! My doctor is his partner! I'm glad to hear that you are doing well. E-mail me and let me know how your fill goes!! NewYearNewMe: I just sent you a private e-mail!! We have our pre-op stuff on the same day and we have our surgery by the same doctor on the same day!! Hi, guys!! I'm actually being banded in February, but it sounds like we are all really close to being banded at the same time. My date is Wednesday, February 27th. I've been cutting back on my food intake and not eating sweets. I'm also limiting myself to one can of my beloved Cherry Coke Zero a day. I think I might go through withdrawls after my band from not having it anymore!! I'm also exercising when I get the chance. I know that I need to do a lot more, though!! I've lost 13 lbs. on my own in the last 3 1/2 weeks. I'm going to weigh again in the morning and hope that some more has came off since the last time I weighed!! :eek: I can tell that everyone here is as excited as I am to finally have a date. I begin my pre-op diet on February 18th. When is everyone beginning there's??

I would like to see the kids on the show a few years down the road and see how they are doing. Maybe the girl that lost it on her own will gain weight and be considering WLS in a few years... :biggrin:

WickedKitten, I have to pay $1,500.00 up front to my surgeon's office on 2/18 (before my surgery on 2/27). That's for my $500 deductible and the 20% that insurance isn't paying. I think his total fee for doing the lap band is $5,000.00. That's just for the surgeon, though. I have no clue how much the hospital and anesthesiologist are charging!!
