ryebread got a reaction from Dr. Altamirano in Considering revision to Gastric Sleeve -- should I?
Pinkgirl1234 she had issues with her lap band continuously slipping, eventually it eroded. She lost 58 lbs in the first 4 months... Every time I saw her she just seemed to be melting away. She is starting to plateau now bit has lost over 90 lbs. She said she is going to start exercising now as she hasn't since her surgery.

I am having a revision surgery myself due to my lap band constantly slipping and causing issues. I am extremely excited as a co-worker of mine had a revision as well last October and has had fabulous results! Hopefully, this will help put you at ease. My surgery date is rapidly approaching on August 31st! Best of luck to you!

@@ryebread I definitely don't think you should be hard on yourself about the weight. You did well with the lap band which doesn't work for many. I am included in that bunch. I had similar symptoms to yours and also had revision. So far it's been an overall positive experience. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery.

@@ryebread I've been dieting according to the nutritionist guidelines but my doc only has a requirement for a liquid diet 24 hours prior. I find that strange seeing all the posts about a pure liquid diet for a week plus but I specifically asked if I was misunderstanding something. The more I read the more I get anxious ! Lol

Rny 11/18/14. Sw289 cw184. I've never counted calories just estimated, kept the Water and Protein up always! My workout is an hour on the treadmill 3-4 times a week. I've had many plateaus and one lasted over a month! I'm losing so much slower now and it's not every week that I can see a loss. I have 24 pds til goal which I set at 160. Once I get there I may reevaluate and take it from there. Moral of the story, keep going..work hard and enjoy the progress you make no matter how much you lose or how fast you lose! You will get there and that's all that matters!

Thank you Karen. It's very helpful knowing there's lots of other people in the same boat as me and the positive attitudes AND results I've read about. I was actually looking for a live support group for a few weeks but the forum is actually better suited for me. I found out about it from the psychologist who interviewed/dissected me. I've been spending a lot of time reading the posts and about the resources. I guess it's time to get a little more serious and not be so lazy or ambivalent about things. I did buy Alex' Big Book and read a good deal on the train today. And tomorrow I see my doctor, probably for the last time before surgery. Thanks again for your comments.

Yay! Miso soup is the best! Wasn't it a great idea? So delicious and much better than just gross chicken broth. My mom made me tortilla soup broth too. She got the chicken broth, condimented it, cooked bell peppers, onions, cilantro, Tomato sauce in it and then blended it and strained it for me. It was full of flavor yet still clear. Perfect for pre op.

It took about 2 days once it was in their systems, however my Drs. office sent it certified returned receipt and they actually received it 2 weeks prior to that.
The only required a letter of "medical neccesity" from the Drs. office.
I kept calling Humana but they will NOT tell you anything over the phone. It wasn't until I received a letter in the mail, my Drs. office received one as well.
    Humana Rocks!!!

I am feeling all the normal emotions I should be experiencing today. I have done really well on my liquid pre-op, I have done all that I was asked and I have researched for over a year. I am a rule follower and I hope that helps me with my post op... Keep me in your thoughts and prayers please. I will update as soon as I am able. Good luck to the rest of the 8/17 sleevers !!!!! So excited to start our new journey ????

@@Floey84 it's ok. Just don't do it again. I cheated on my first and second pre op diet days too. The first 3 or 4 days are the worst. You feel like you will go crazy. But I figured as long as I'm drinking flavored water or sugar free something it's easier. I love miso Soup so I had that a couple of times. My surgery went well without complications. I'm at day 8 post op and the pounds just fall off. You barely get hungry. It's more like psychological hunger. And once you eat 3 spoonfuls of soup or a couple of Protein Shake sips you will feel full. Don't listen to people who are saying "why are you doing this if you aren't committed" cause of course you are committed if you are in ur pre op diet and I know it's hard. You will do great!
