  1. I would not do bypass because of malabsorption. I take several prescription meds and cannot afford for them to not be absorbed. I LOVE the sleeve. Lot less complicated surgery in my opinion.
  2. You can do this! Really think about what is going on. If you want to eat but not hungry, are you bored? If so find something to do. Go clean. Go walk. Go volunteer somewhere. Are you stressed? If so do some stress relief. Go walk. Call someone. Find a way to work through your stress. Do not waste this great opportunity. Your feelings will pass. It will get easier I promise!!!!!!! Just do not give up!
  3. Congratulations! I really enjoyed reading your post!! You're going to love life!!
  4. @innersurfergirl when is your birthday? I'm buying you a tshirt that says Embrace the Stall LOL. i can always count on hearing those words from you. I just love you to death!!!!!
  5. Man I completely understand. It's so hard! Before the sleeve I had to work hard NOT to eat. Now, 8 weeks post op, I have to make myself eat to get all the Protein I need. Such a difference!!! It is wonderful. Good luck to you!!!
  6. According to my plan, I could not gain a single pound from one month to the next. Instant denial. If that is the case with you, go on a liquid diet. Postpone another week of possible. Say you are sick or something. LOW carbs. LOW sugar. When you go to her and weigh, wear very light clothes. Take off your shoes. No under clothes hahaha. Can you meet with her via phone? That way you can "tell" her your weight instead of show her, if you know what I mean. Others may not agree with me, but oh well. We all have our opinions. I know what I would do. I have to ask you this on the nicest way possible. Are you sure you are ready for surgery? There may be circumstances that I don't know about causing you to gain weight. Just move on from here and do this!!
  7. Man, I am here for you sister! YOU GO GIRL! Two years is more than phenomenal. Do you have any questions?
  8. I am in texas and have Aetna. I know it differs from policy to policy. I simply could not gain weight at all during the three months on supervised diet. One month I lost only one pound and the other months were around three. There wasn't a whole lot of loss going on. I was approved. And quickly.
  9. I agree. 103 is really high. Better safe than sorry.
  10. Sweetheart you can't go to work with fever like that!! You must feel horrible!!!!! Did he say you can take Tylenol? Sorry, it's the mom coming out in me. Please get better.
  11. Take your temp. How high is it? I get fever every surgery I have but don't think 12 days out. Does anything hurt like throat, chest, etc? Does your doc have a number you can call after hours? If so I would do that.
  12. You are awesome! I can't thank you enough. I will get some of that stuff!! I appreciate the time you took to help me out. Thanks!!!
  13. Man thanks for the tips! I am almost 8 weeks out and I am losing more hair than normal. I think it is due to hormones though. I am really worried about hair loss at 4 months . Also, my skin has become really dry too! Strange. I still struggle to get all my fluids in and that doesn't help.
  14. Just bought a bunch of grape. Saw raspberry but was afraid to get it.
  15. Great news!! I tried my grape new whey today and it was good! Put some in ice water and stuck some lemon juice in it. It was good. I used a little over a third of the tube in my first glass then the rest in my second glass.
  16. Mornings I sometimes just have coffee with vanilla protein powder, or 1-2 eggs, or Greek yogurt with protein powder. For lunch I try to take left overs from last nights dinner which is mostly chicken or fish and veggies. I may have thinly sliced turkey and cheese, rolled together. Snacks may be yogurt, cheese, sugar free Popsicles. I admit I am pretty boring and not creative.
  17. Mine was complete liquid. I would have given anything for veggies and jello!!!!!
  18. I am so sorry. You will recover. Just hang in there now and take it day by day sweetheart. You are in my thoughts. I agree with psychoprof too. Maybe a second opinion isn't a bad idea. Ask questions and don't be afraid to be bold. It is your body.
  19. I am doing great!!!!!!! Have felt great most of the time. I have issues getting all my water in. Got dehydrated one weekend I think. Have lost 33 pounds and rolling right along! Thanks for asking!
  20. My doc was a beast too. No gas pain at all. I love that man! His staff is awesome too!!! He was so cute, my first post op visit when I told him everything from post op was absolutely perfect, no pain, no nausea, he patted himself on the back hahaha. We all just laughed.
  21. My doc asked me to go empty my bladder right before surgery so they didn't have to do a cath.
  22. My pre op was a liquid diet. I could have up to five protein shakes, broth, sugar free Popsicles, water, hmmm... I'm thinking...... that's about it. Oh ya anything sugar free.
  23. I bought new whey at Walmart. They smelled so bad. Ugh. My doc said pour some in Water and squeeze lemon in it or put sugar free syrup, but do whatever it takes to drink it. Lots of Protein. I haven't done that yet haha. If you could break that into three times a day, man that 42 g of protein. I'm sure with Splenda or something added it would be tolerable. I did isopure drinks on my two week post op clear liquid diet. I would rather stick needles in my eyes than to drink another one of those EVER.
