  1. I have split it to where we each have our own cupboard in our pantry. He told me today that he wants to start eating healthier as well which will help tremendously. Of course he can have salads and all I am craving right now is a nice salad lol
  2. My patient coordinator says it is withdrawal more than likely from caffeine and food. Mine only lasted til the morning of Day 2. Granted I am only now on Day 3, but I haven't had one since. I don't know what your diet will be like but I am still allowed to have unsweet tea and black coffee, I just haven't had any drink yet other than my Protein shake and Water.
  3. Ditto @@ylluz!!! I am Day 3 of my pre-op diet now and feeling great, energized, and optimistic. A drastic change from the last couple days.
  4. Yay! The headaches were the worst...today I am headache free as well and actually feeling energized.
  5. I am sorry you had to encounter that. I am definitely of a higher BMI, but I do not look down on anyone who is ready to become a healthier version of themselves. I mentioned just now in another thread, but I have found this forum to be a blessing. It's a support group right at my fingertips. Forget the haters
  6. I have found this forum to be a blessing! It's nice to be able to talk to others who are going through or have gone through the same things you have.
  7. I am also on a 3 week diet and I thought I would struggle majorly, but I have not. I am also self-pay and I definitely don't like to waste money so that is also a little kick in the butt I need. I've not been hungry really but I think it has all been more psychological for me. I've not been a fan of the shakes but I have made myself get a couple down a day. But my doctor did send me a recipe for a veggie Soup that I am allowed to have a couple cups of a day and just that texture of those few veggies alone has been enough to trick my brain into thinking I have been "eating." The first day I did not have the veggies but I am also able to have egg drop soup and the consistency and great taste of it put me more at ease and helped me feel fuller. I am not sure how strict your diet is exactly.
  8. Day 3 of my pre-op diet and I haven't weighed yet, but my slacks for work were definitely feeling looser this morning. I was able to button the second button and the waist band didn't fold over. Hallelujah...progress!!! Makes liquids seem a little better lol.
  9. Congratulations!!! I am scheduled for the 17th as well
  10. I went out to a little Chinese café for lunch to get my egg drop soup when I noticed that they had a veggie soup on the menu. I asked what was in it and it was everything I am allowed to have according to the veggie soup recipe I was sent as part of my pre-op diet. I'm a super satisfied lady right now. Day 2 is moving along smoothly.
  11. Yay! Welcome to the August 17th Club
  12. I struggled with my protein powder as well yesterday. I bought Isopure unflavored so that it could be added into broths as well as shakes; however, when I was preparing soup last night for today's lunch it just clumped up in there and became inedible. I read that it has to be added before it gets heated up, so I will try again in hopes I can mix in some protein with my soup. Thinking about trying the Syntrax Nectar options to put in my water through the day.
  13. My aunt had surgery there and she and my uncle were both very pleased with the care she received there.
  14. My husband is insecure as well and I always had to remind myself of that and try to take into account his feelings. But sometimes it was hard. I would try to remind him that he wants to have kids and we have tried for over a year with no luck. I tried to appeal to this side of him. The surgery may help with fertility, healthier pregnancy, etc. He would say "Promise that when the time comes we can try for kids and that is why you are doing this." I hate that he gives me like these little ultimatums, but I know he is scared. He broke down about a week ago and let me know that he was scared I would not come back from surgery and he didn't know what he would do without me and that is why he has been so against the whole process.
  15. Yay! Fingers crossed! This is me tooBut I'm still closer to 500 calories and I feel like I'm gonna pass out idk what to eat tho I hit about 800 calories yesterday. I don't know if your NUT allows it, but I am able to have egg drop soup on my pre-op liquid diet and it helped me get some calories in last night and it helped me feel satisfied.
  16. I contemplated taking off today too as the headache I woke up with this morning was just awful, but I knew that if I stayed home I would be even more tempted to eat and besides I want to save my days in case I need to take off after the surgery. We got this!
  17. My husband was the same way at first. He didn't want me to have it at all at first. Then he got to the point where he would say, "you do what you gotta do, but I don't wanna hear about it." He tends to be insecure to the point where it can be kind of problematic and one time he said, "promise me you aren't going to leave me if you get thinner." That was rather upsetting as I took it that he felt like I only settled on him because I was overweight and couldn't get anyone else. Then come time I was scheduled my date the argument became about him not being able to be there due to his work and he felt like I was not being considerate of him. But now, this past month, 20 days out from surgery, he sent me the most supportive text message on my way to work this morning saying he was "so proud and excited for the journey I have begun" and that he has faith in me. When all this started I thought we may end up a statistic and it may not last for us, but things have really started to come around. The message he sent me this morning surprised me and brought tears to my eyes because it has been such a battle and I didn't think I would ever hear those words from him. My hope for you is that maybe your fiancé will come around as my husband did.
  18. Yeah insurance is what usually requires the 6 month program. As I am self-pay I was not required to complete a 6 month program.
  19. I broke through the wall I hit yesterday and was able to finish Day 1 off feeling fine. This morning; however, I woke up with hunger pains and my Protein shake didn't have quite the same filling effect as it did yesterday. My pre-op diet, though it is a full liquid diet, I am allowed to have a veggie Soup that they sent me a recipe for where I can eat the veggies and all. I sent an e-mail to my coordinator this morning asking if I can just have a raw veggies in moderation to trick my brain into thinking I'm eating something it wants. I think the psychological nature of it all is the worst. I just want to put something with texture in my mouth lol.
