  1. Another TMI bit perhaps, to top everything off this week I just got my period about a week and a half early. Maybe that explains why I have been a little extra crampy today :-/
  2. Slept in my bed last night instead of the recliner last night which felt nice. Down 6 lbs since surgery. Feeling okay, let's see how we get these fluids down today.... Have a great day all!
  3. My doc said to not worry about sugar free this week and drink juice or stuff with sugar to help in the calories department since it will be hard to get in my protein right now. I'm on clear liquids for the next few days and I don't know today was just rough going. I did feel better after having some room temperature gatorade. My antibiotics were super hard/disgusting to get down though :-(
  4. Today has been my first full day at home and I have mostly been by myself. Ugh, it's been miserable. I'm not really in a lot of pain but I have broken down a couple times thinking I've made a big mistake. I keep having to remind myself why I made this decision. Just stinks not having anyone here right now.
  5. The gas really is the worst part. 3 days post op today and I feel pretty good. I also am still wanting to sleep a lot and haven't been able to get all the liquids down but my doctor says that's okay right now just get down what as much as I can. Phew. This is definitely no "easy way out."
  6. Been in my hospital bed most of this evening with a headache. Getting released in the morning and dreading the ride home.
  7. The one on my left side hurts the worst. Got a bit of a bruise going on there. Still feeling good though, but have a little more gas pain this afternoon .
  8. I think I've come through pretty well. 1 bout of nausea yesterday after surgery but no vomiting. Gas is concentrated more up top so a lot of burping but no real pain. Finally got some ice chips today...who knew they could be so yummy?! Get to go home tomorrow!
  9. Still having relatively no pain, a little uncomfortable is probably the better word for it. Doc just came and checked in on me and said everything is looking really good. Tomorrow is ice chips and more walking
  10. I am officially post op now too! I'm still pretty groggy but just did my first walk. Yay! It is going much better than I expected as well.
  11. Oh sorry to hear that. I've heard horror stories about the gas pain. Hoping I get the better end of the deal...and hope yours gets better soon.
  12. Will update after surgery as soon as I can. Sending good vibes out to all of y'all!
  13. I am already on the road today for my surgery tomorrow since it is about 5 hours from home. Getting suuuuuper nervous!
  14. It's my last day at work as well. Tomorrow I am making my trip to the store to stock up. Packing tomorrow night and since my surgery is about 5-6 hours away from home it's off to my hotel Sunday. So what are your hospital necessities you are taking. I will be there 2 days and don't want to forget anything. I have a list made, just trying to drill it into my head before I go to the store haha.
  15. Honestly that is what I have come to love so much about this forum. If I start worrying about something I am usually able to come on here read some posts from others who have been through it and get some feedback and support. Good luck to you as well!
  16. 4 days!!! I am really starting to get super nervous and anxious.
  17. I also have surgery on the 17th and I too have worries about not being able to enjoy all the food I love. I am Chinese food fanatic and I'm gonna miss those buffets...but what gets me through it is knowing that me missing that is not nearly as strong as the desire I have to be healthier and slimmer. Just gotta spin a negative to a positive.
  18. I have the same worries about my pre-op diet/liver shrinkage. I've lost 12 lbs, but I also haven't been 100% faithful to my diet plan which consisted of shakes, Soup, and veggies. I don't feel awful that my only cheats have been salad dressing for the veggies, one baked sweet potato with butter, and scrambled eggs (which I justified to myself because I am allowed egg drop soup on my plan) but that worry still exists in the back of my mind and I am sure that is perfectly normal. I feel confident that we will all be just fine.
  19. Not everyone does. My doctor requires a two day stay just to make sure everything is going smoothly before I go home.
  20. No surgery is Monday, discharged Wednesday. But I'll be gone from home from Sunday til Thursday.
