Vomiting in the middle of the night! PLEASE HELP
I would go to a gastroenterologist. They specialize in stomach issues. It doesn't sound right that this keeps happening.

How often do you see your nutritionist?
I had surgery 12/17/15. I've seen my surgeon 3 times since then and each time I go to the office, I also see the nutritionist either before or after I see the surgeon.

How has this surgery affected your cycles? (GIRLS)
I went 1 and 1/2 years without a period. My gynecologist did blood work in September that showed I was in early menopause. (I'm 43) The week before my sleeve in December I had a period! I was shocked. Anyway, since then I've had 2 more period exactly 28 days apart... I'm so bummed. It was nice not having periods. I truly hope they stop again. I've always had horrible cramps that only got better with ibuprofen, which now after surgery I'm not supposed to take. So it's pretty miserable having periods again....

Hospital bag....what do I need?
I was in the hospital only for about 24 hours so I definitely overpacked. I definitely used the extra long phone charger and lip balm. I wore home what I wore to hospital, loose sweat pants and big t-shirt. Didn't use my gas x strips or my biotene mouth wash until I was home. I used a hospital gown because I was on a cardiac monitor with wires going everywhere and I had an IV so wearing my own gown would have been difficult. I used my own flip flops when getting up out of bed to go to the bathroom and walk around my room.

Did anyone not have a drain?
No drain with my sleeve.

Medical Abdominal Binder
There's no way I could have tolerated wearing a binder postop. I could barely wear a loose fitting bra and underwear. Irritated my little incisions.

Is anyone not taking reflux meds post-VSG?
I'm 9 weeks out and I don't take them. My surgeon never told me I should take them. I've not had a problem. I'm glad too, since there's so much bad info coming out about PPIs...

Cost of gastric sleeve without insurane
I live in South Florida near West Palm Beach and if my insurance didn't cover my sleeve, it would have been $8400.

Probiotics
Hi everyone. I've read that several people take probiotics post op to help with constipation. What brands are everyone using? I want to start taking them but I'm not sure which ones and whether I need to spend extra money or if the inexpensive ones are ok. Thanks for any help you all can provide!????

What upsets your sleeve now?
Eggs make me nauseous! I've tried to eat them a few times and I feel so horrible after just a few bites...

Straws?
I've been using straws since the day I had surgery. My surgeon actually recommended it. Says we take smaller sips with straws. I've had no problems at all. I was sleeved 12/17/15.

This is my month and my year!
@Lemm I too am an RN and I know the wear and tear our bodies take in this profession. I made the decision to have surgery in July and after all the hoops required by insurance I was sleeved 12/17. I've not had 1 single regret since surgery. Good luck on your journey.

Tomorrow is the day
Just follow your doctors instructions and get up and walk as soon as you can and as often as you can. Good luck!

Insomnia after Sleeve?
I have the same problem! Doesn't matter if I go to bed at 9 or midnight, I'm wide awake at 3 am... Sucks. It's hard to function when I have to go to work for 12 hours when I've been awake so early. I've tried melatonin with no help. Benadryl works but then I feel hungover for hours after I get up. I can't take it if I have to go to work.

Just had surgery 12 days ago - already getting mixed reviews/comments from family and friends. HELP!
- Bread/Crackers
My surgeon stresses a low carb diet forever. No crackers, bread, rice or pasta.- Any December Sleever's?
@@Snuzin I was sleeved 12/17. I went 4 days without a bm then the diarrhea started and hasn't stopped. It's quite inconvenient.... Glad you're doing well otherwise. I'm doing good. I'm getting in all my fluids and protein. I've lost 10lbs since surgery. Hope our bathroom issues clear up soon. Good luck!- December 2015 or January 2016 sleevers ?
@@ssflbelle My surgeon only did surgery one day a week until recently when he added two more days each week because his practice has gotten so busy. I'm sorry to hear that you have to wait so long because of your surgeons schedule. That sucks to have it drawn out so much longer. Hang in there.- Why weight gain 2nd day from surgery?
Wait a few days before stepping on the scale. Your body needs time to adjust to everything it's been through.- I have read people getting a "drain", does everyone get a "drain"
No drain for me. I was sleeved yesterday 12/17.- Tomorrow is the day!
@@Leesa Good luck today! I'm scheduled tomorrow at noon.- Any December Sleever's?
@@Jdr24 how are you feeling after your first week? Much pain? Are you up and moving around pretty easily? I'm scheduled this Thursday so I'm just wondering what to expect the first week.- Preop diet question.
I would definitely let your doc know. Electrolyte ( sodium, potassium etc.) imbalances will cause those muscle cramps.- How long between 1st consult and surgery date?
I had my first visit with the surgeon August 3. I had to do 90 days of physician supervised diet. I'm scheduled Thursday 12/17 for surgery. I'm very thankful my insurance only requested 90 days instead of 6 months like so many others. - Bread/Crackers
