My doctor told me to drink 15 minutes after eating and vice versa. I sometimes forget and have extreme gas. That's the only time I have issues. I am 7 months out.

Hi! I had surgery 3 weeks ago today. I feel ok but i have a few questions. Whenever i drink, i burp constantly!! Has anyone else experienced this?? Sometimes i feel like i have a ball of gas in my chest. I find it so hard to get all my fluids in. And just one other thing, certain things not only taste bad now, but things i loved smell horrible. Foes anyone know if this gets better! Thanks T

Morning! The shoulder pain was due to the air being pumped into you during op.. that went with alot of arm movement exercise eat. the back and side pain was excessive lying on my back. I was in op for 4 hours then another 3.5 in recovery. had complications but all went well over all. Since I put some ibroprofen gel on my back last night I haven't needed any meds for the tummy!! I met a lady who had the surgery 4 years ago (she was visiting the patient next to me) she popped her head in to say don't give up and even tho your having a very bad time it's worth it. seing how good she looked really helped!! I hope to be going home today so I'm feeling positive ????

Hey September Sleevers, just wanted to update you guys. Tomorrow makes one week post op. I'm gonna ease my way into full liquids, starting with some Soup for dinner. TMI, but still haven't had a bowel movement, not sure if this is normal or not considering I've only been consuming liquids, but I've been drinking Water like crazy! I would imagine well over 64oz of Water alone plus my Protein. It's been hot in LA, so I've been drinking tons of water. My urine is almost clear so I'm nowhere near dehydrated.
It's still been a struggle to get in the Protein. I had about 40-50grams yesterday between the shakes, and my mom used two of my premier vanilla Protein Shakes from costco and made me some sugar free vanilla pudding out of it. The concept was splendid although it was kinda thick, so I didn't want to eat much of it yesterday, but I'll try more today.
I weighed myself and I'm officially in the two's again! I'm 298, which is awesome considering my starting weight was 343 in April. I was 301 the day of my surgery, 310 two days after, so the excess water weight is finally gone plus a few extra pounds, so I'm ecstatic! I would be highly pleased if I made it to 280 by the end of the month, but I'm not putting pressure on myself.
I'm still having pain in the incision site where they removed everything, but otherwise I'm feeling better overall. I'm planning to start a new thread called "things you didn't expect during your first month post-op" because I've already had some experience unexpected and I think it would be helpful if we shared them with each other. We can post them here too, but I'm also wanting to hear from people who've been sleeved for a while too, as they can help us be better prepared going into our first month. Anyways, I'm still alive and well guys...carry on ????????????✌????️

Day 3 post op... Feeling much better, finally can see some.light at the end of the tunnel. Havent felt hungry at. still on 'free liquids'.
I know I expected pain but nothing prepared me for th back and should pain.. this hurt much more than the op (tummy incisions) I didn't have a drain and was walking day 1. Good luck to you all. It's a very tough couple of days but it doesn't get easier. I hope to be going home in the morning.. Can't wait as I cannot sleep in this bed! x x

38 days post-op here. No headaches, no nausea, yes tiredness ( I had major surgery) but that is getting better all the time, and no hair thinning yet. I understand the hair thinning happens beginning month 3 or so. I am also told it is just extra shedding, I have very thick hair so not too worried about it, and it comes back so it isn't permanent. I would rather lose to my goal weight than have thick hair. lol Good luck!

after i started loosing weight, i "found" my neck
    june 25th
    8 weeks since face lift

doc was putting some moisturizer on my face/showing me how to massage daily
he got to an area, and i was saying "ouch, ouch, ouch"
    that hurts what is that??
doc laughed and said "those are your cheek bones"
couple of weeks later, while washing my face i felt a strange sensation
thought it was numbness or something
complained to hubby after a few days
he laughed and said ,"those are your glands"
    who would have thought
now i am standing tall with a neck, cheek bones, and glands
who knows what i will find next
    kathy
    congrats to me

Well I've been wanting to post a #transformationtuesday for a while but just haven't done it.. But here it goes.. In the last 7 month I have transformed a lot. From a whopping 380lbs person to the 238.4lbs I weighted this morning.. It's been a long long road but dropping 142lbs has been well worth it.. Many people have asked me how I have done it and for a while I chose to keep it private but what's the use? Back on September 10th of 2014 I made the decision to enroll in a weight loss class at Kaiser just to view my options about how to control my weight. They were very helpful and I gained a lot of knowledge on what to eat and basic nutrition. But they also informed me of many different weight loss surgeries.. I wasn't really looking down that road but when I looked at what could be my potential health risk I started to weight my options. You see my family history and their health problem; with my dad having heart problems, diabetes and dying of a heart attack at the age of 50. I decided to make a drastic change I my life. I decided to have the gastric sleeve. It was not only for my benefit but for benefit of my soon to be wife to insure that I would be around for many many years to come. So on January 26, 2015 with my then fiancé, my mom and sister by my side (and a visit from Aunt Candice) I went in for surgery to have the Gastric Sleeve.. I do have to say that it is one of the best decisions I have ever made (up till that point the best decision I made happened on 05/16/2015. I feel amazing I am no longer border line diabetic and can run and move without loosing my breath. I am not worried that when and if my wife and I have children will I not be there for all those special moments in their lives.. Some people my shake their heads in disappointment saying I could have done it on my own and maybe I could have.. But the pros in my decision out weight the cons.. I love me and I am happy with myself and my body.. I'm not done yet still have about 40lbs to go till I'm at my goal weight.. But if anyone has any questions about my surgery and if I would do it again I would say YES a million time over.. And those of you who have 100+ to lose I highly recommend you look into it, not only for you but for your families sake.. It is not a easy way out. It is not a fix all solution, it is a tool and at times it is difficult but in the end it is so rewarding
