I'm August 3rd - going to start my pre-op diet this Monday! Nervous but super excited!!

Surgeon approved surgery. Just waiting for insurance approval. Tentative date is Monday, Aug. 10.

@@soonsleeved after we chatted the other day I called our clinic to inquire about "upgrading" my surgery to the single incision and my case worker said that you would still have a 2nd incision for the drain. And even then the single incision is all up to the doctor discretion if they can do the surgery successfully with one incision. My case worker actually talked me OUT of going with single incision and the scars are smaller than your pinky nail.... with Vitamin E oil, scaring wont appear nearly as much. Price difference (for me) wasn't worth it for 3 less scars 1/2" in length.
I couldn't imagine having 85% of my stomach pulled out through my belly button ....

No pics of the scar....I believe my recovery was the same as everyone else....one night in the hospital....every day I felt better & better...it was tough in the beginning but doable....best of luck to you!

Yes! That is what I had in October 2014. It's great because there is no scar or i should say a very small scar....in the belly button.

Looks like August is going to be a busy month.. Looks we are all doing the hurry up and wait right now.. Where are all you guys from? I am in Kansas land of Oz lol

My date is scheduled for RNY on August 4th and as thrilled as I am I can't help but feel nervous. I keep changing my mind between the sleeve and the bypass all day long for two reasons. I'm afraid of Reactive hypoglycemia as a possible RNY side effect and not loosing enough weight with the sleeve. I know I'll be fine and that it's probably cold feet. Overall I am excited and thrilled that it's a bit over a month away.

August 5th surgery
July 29th preregistration and meeting with doctors
July 22nd start the liquid diet
July 15th do the upper GI.
I guess I'm a Wednesday girl.
Then August 20th is post-op meeting with doctor and hopefully back to work. That's the schedule and it's really happening now. Can't believe it.
Want to eat a pizza for my last meal. Is that bad? Should I already be on the health train? Am doing well day to day, eating healthy and just regular meals - no snacking - no ice cream (my downfall). But there is this one local pizza place in town that has sentimental and gastrointestinal pull. I will eat small but I will eat pizza. :-)

August 10th for me! I find myself thinking about my new self contanstly. Each time i can't do something easily or take my medicine or use my cpap at night I just feel an overwhelming hope of being able to be rid of them. July 16th is preop boot camp. July 27th full liquid diet starts. I will do what I gotta do!!!
