Since my surgery (RNY) 7 1/2 weeks ago weight loss has been a little slow. I'm down a total of 46 pounds but couldn't "see" much of a difference in myself. Well my daughter convinced me to take a pic of myself today and while it's not a huge difference, I can see some progress so far!

It depends on your weight but between 60 - 100 grams of Protein a day. Eat Protein first every single time, then vegetables that are not starches, and Water. Lots of Water. Carbs should be very limited.
I track all my food in My fitness pal. You can set it for high protein/low carbs.

I have not had a hard time with anything except drinking the Protein Shakes, I have not drank them since a few days after surgery. I am eating just about anything I want(no seeds, or nuts) I just finished up my fifth workout at the gym and have so much energy!!!

Happy13 reacted to futurefocus in I finally decided
Just before my 10th birthday my stepfather began coming into my room at night while my mother was at work. This continued until I was 12 years old. I tried several times to tell my mother over those years what was happening to me but she didn't want to hear it and I didn't know what words to use. My grandmother stayed with me once and figured it out and also tried to stop it but again, her words fell on deaf ears. Her attempts caused a huge rift between her and my mother that was never repaired. I finally stopped it myself. Many ramifications. The most lasting one besides my view of the world was my view of myself. Somehow, I blamed the way I looked. If I didn't look like that he wouldn't want me. While my conscious mind knew that it had nothing to do with me, the result was a slow, steady weight gain that continued until June 11th 2015.
After struggling with diets and exercise, back pain, knee pain and hip pain, I decided that something had to change. A friend had the surgery and loved the results. It took a year for me to decide and then I did. Once the decision was made, I was excited. I started making a list of all the things I looked forward to -- not being in pain anymore, my blood pressure going down, my blood sugar leveling out, shopping at any store, shopping in my closet, being able to wear normal shoes, my feet not swelling anymore...so many things. I add to list everyday. I can see my cheekbones again, my face is thinner, so are my fingers, my thighs don't rub together when I walk, I can walk up 4 flights of stairs, I can walk again.
Don't get me wrong, I have achieved much success in my life both personally and in my career. I just couldn't do this without help. The feeling is amazing to step on the scale and see it change each week. It's great to not be hungry anymore. I feel braver, stronger, more in charge of my body. Life is very good and I am grateful for the gift of this surgery. I love this new life.

    Long overdue update!
I'm around 3.5 post op now, and once I was able to start regular foods I felt so much better! I did end up on the doctors office once and received IV fluids and Vitamins. Getting Water in is much easier now, but I'm still hitting my Water goals the way I should.
I am now down 93lbs as of today. 3.5 months out. AMAZING!
I have great restriction. I listen to my stomach and stop when I get my full feeling. I haven' thrown up since I was able to start regular food.
Here's a new pic of me.

I had my surgery on 7/7/15 and seem to be doing fine at home. Still on liquids with no issues. Had a tough time with nausea and vomiting in the hospital. Today I am feeling depressed and wondering why I have done this to myself. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

I didn't get a quick buzz. I'm now 10 weeks post op and tried a vodka drink and as soon as I drank it I knew sleeve didn't like it and I didn't drink it.

What kind of supervisor makes a comment like that under any circumstances?! Rude beyond belief! Depending on where you start weight-wise will depend on how soon others notice. 50 pounds from a person over 250 is harder to discern than off a person around 200. Most people are more interested in what is going on in their own personal lives than what is going on in ours. Try to understand that they are just preoccupied with their own stuff!

If you have a fever and pain you might want to call your Doc.
I know I had many hard days where I had no energy at all and soft foods made me nauseous. tuna and mashed potatoes weren't on my list for months. I did blended Soups for weeks. Maybe you need to stay with the softer foods. Blended Soups, Cream of wheat or yogurt, I was way behind most for starting puree and solid foods. You might be too.
Keep the liquids going. I got dehydrated and ended up in the ER which isn't a big deal. They just gave me IV fluids and I perked right up.
It takes a while to feel good again.
I called my Doc all the time. Mostly got the nurse but they were great at answering my calls and calming me down.
    Be gentle with yourself.

Just want to say I'm jealous of all you people getting to eat "real" food! I'm 9 days out, and my surgeon is super strict, so I'm supposed to be on liquids for a full four weeks. I can't wait to eat beans! Or anything, really.

At first I was very skeptical on the hole weight loss is was aggravated because I thought I would lose more weight but then I realized that I didn't gain the weight over night and I wouldn't lose it overnight as well... I am just over 3 weeks out and I met with my NUT last week. I had gone back to work last Monday and had bad stomach ache all day Monday and Tuesday. My NUT pointed out that maybe I was having too much dairy and that was the answer. I was drinking yogurt shakes and eating yogurt for snack and lunch bc it was convenient for lunch at work and it had lots of Protein. I had been drinking lots of Protein Shakes but with almond milk that doesn't have any lactose so that didn't bother me. Now I feel great. My NUT also told me to start eating regular foods. Yeah. I can actually chew food. I made chili and put it into small containers. I had a tiny bit of London broil yesterday. I cut into really small pieces and chewed it to death and it was fine. Today I had some chicken and the same thing. Real food with real taste! Yeah me!

On the 10th of July I will be 1 month post op, and I feel great, I had BBQ for the first time yesterday, steak, shrimp, sausage, the cool part is I ate 2 bites of the sausage, 2 of the 3 med Shrimp, and 3 oz if the steak, and I was full!!!!!!!, this is an awesome change for me and I utilize the sleeve with what I've learned, a typical Sunday Breakfast would have been 2 eggs, 6 pieces of bacon and 8 tortillas, today it was 1 egg, half a sausage, and 1 slice of 7 grain bread, and I left 1/4 piece of the bread and 1/2 a sausage, and I always remove the plate and yell I'm done just to re-affirm it to myself, I actually find it harder with drinks, I'm craving things like Energy drinks, my coffee, and yesterday I wanted a beer so bad( I always limited myself to 1 or 2 after college), I'm still researching the alcohol thing, too many varying opinions, even a couple of theories that some wine is good for you after gastric! We will see
