I haven't had many issues with it getting lumpy. I use Now Sports whey Protein isolate and mix one scoop with 16oz and just shake it really well. I get the occasional clump of powder (yuck) but for the most part it mixes great and I don't even taste it. I've mixed it with other sugar free Fruit Drinks as well but lemonade is my favorite. it's also low calorie, like 110calories

It sounds like you're really doing everything you can to be positive and stay on track. That's huge! Keep pushing through. I had cravings a couple weeks after surgery too. I tried a couple bites of things and ended up finding I wasn't as interested in them as I thought. It takes time, but maybe you can find some new foods that replace your old go to Snacks. There are tons of recipes online. You've got this, keep pushing through

I have not had that happened, but oh my gosh I'm so sorry people are so rude! People are so shallow. Last I checked love was about more than I size. At least it is in my book!

My mom has invited me over for dinner, then ordered pizza. Wtf. It's as if she's trying to rub it in my face. I also get frustrated when my bf wants to go out to eat, which is totally fine, but wants to go to places that have nothing I can eat. Or decides we shouldn't cook, he wants takeout. Come on. Get take out or go to grease ball restaurants with your friends. I think it's a little insensitive to do that in front of me, especially because I'm only 2 months out. It's going to be tough forever, but eventually we need to get used to being around food we can't eat or social events that aren't ideal for us. But I think it's reasonable to expect the first few months my family and close friends try to think about me when making plans. I feel selfish saying this, but this year is about me and I need to do everything I can to get the results I want. Sometimes it would be nice for a little more support

scarletwitch19 reacted to Elode in Pretty fantastic NSV's
I have a few NSV's to share! First, I started back to school Tuesday and I did NOT wear scrubs to school! (If you read one of my last trending post you will understand that) I actually went clothes shopping and bought some real school clothes including a size 8 in jeans!! Also, for the last two days in class I didn't wear a jacket, I didn't even bring one which is astonishing even to me because I ALWAYS have something to cover up with. Jackets are something of a security blanket to cover arms, stomach, any back fat I may have had (imaginary or not). It's a wonderful feeling to not feel self-concious while in the seated position. I can focus on my instructor instead of worrying if everything's covered and not poking out. Lastly while at Walgreens one of the lady's who works there came up to me and my daughter and said " I hope this doesn't sound rude but aren't you like half the size you use to be?" I just laughted and said yes I am, thank you! Then on the way home I started thinking dang how fat was I that the lady at Walgreens took notice Still pretty sweet NSV's if you ask me! Oh and I'm finally (34 years into life) getting braces! It's amazing how much you want to improve yourself even more when you feel good about yourself!

So I've been REALLY putting in a good fight to lose weight going into surgery and to change my old habits NOW so that it's not so foreign afterwards. In June, I could barely walk across my house without having to sit down. 2 weeks ago, I nearly died going around the block and yesterday, I walked 2 miles! Seriously my heart was pounding out of my chest and I was coughing like a 50yr smoker when I got home(if home counts as the front lawn and my fat ass laying on it like a fish pulled out of a lake LOL), but I was so proud! I walked 2 miles!!!! At this rate I wonder if I can get to light jogging even before my surgery(I wish!)

Zumba 3 x's a week for 60 minutes. I love it! It has been the only exercise that I have stuck with. I have been doing Zumba for 5 months and always excited to go!! I burn 1015 calories each session at my body weight.

That's my problem ... can't run without knee & back pain. My trainer said walking at a fast pace is just as good as running ... only it takes you a little longer to get there! She has me doing lots of leg strengthening to help my timing improve.

I am so sorry to hear this happened to you! I agree, it is a horrible word that always makes me sad to hear. He never should have wrote that, and she never should have shown you. Hang in there, it's going to get better. You are not obese, you have worked so so hard to get where you are today. Don't let some ignorant doctor make you forget that! Keep your chin up

scarletwitch19 got a reaction from Ravend26 in Hi everyone newcomer to the app!
Drink lots of Water, take your water bottle everywhere
Start cutting out soda and cutting down on caffeine
Try working an exercise routine into your schedule (walking 3x a week is a great starting point)
Make sure you're eating 3 meals a day, no skipping Breakfast or lunch.
It's much easier to update/change existing habits than create new ones. If you follow your nutritionists recommendations and begin you changes before surgery it will make your transition much easier.

This is totally normal, don't fret. Your body is going nuts right now from the low amount of calories you've been taking in. It needs a week or two to get on track. Everyone goes through this, don't worry! Good luck, and congratulations on joining the wls family

We absolutely inspect every facility we use prior to sending our members there. Dr. Almanza and his staff made promises to make some major but very necessary changes and he didn't keep up to his end of the bargain. If we can't trust a surgeon to keep their word, we most definitely can't trust him with our members lives!

scarletwitch19 got a reaction from losing_the_band in To tell my coworker/friend or not...
Did she know about your band? Was she supportive? I previously would have told you if it's a good friend let her know. But I had a bad experience last week. I had a friend at work (who is overweight and struggling with dieting) ask what my diet and exercise plan is like. I decided to tell her about surgery. She lectured me on what a bad idea it was, how dangerous it is and how I should have really thought it through. It was awful. I can totally admit, I was a little judgemental on people who would just tell people they were eating high protein/low carb and exercising. I felt like it was being a little sneaky not giving all the info. I was WRONG. So wrong. I won't be sharing with anyone else. Because I was so upset last week. I just think it's important to protect yourself. Unless you are prepared for her to criticize and prepared for others at work to find out, I would be careful telling anyone.

I think this is a troll....
Even if it's not, I'm thinking....if you can't say the word SEX, maybe you shouldn't be having it. FFS...yes, I said that.
While on the subject, as soon as my blood sugars got normal, my sex drive increased dramatically, in a positive, 'I want it now, and often' kind of way. Thank The Universe!! I'm not ashamed or embarrassed to talk about sex, it is something that is normal, human, and ok to do in this world. I'm not sorry for my bluntness, I'm just astounded...if you can't even say the word, sex, how does someone actually manage to have sex?
Feeding the trolls only makes them come back for more. They live to get others flustered and upset. Unfortunately trolls are part of being a part of the internet. The key is recognizing them early, and ignoring them. I've seen some posts go on for pages and pages with trolls....and believe me, they are loving every minute of attention people give them.
My opinion doesn't have to be your truth.

I hate when people say that. I started at 350, how can you possibly say I didn't need it!? It's basically the 'nice' way to say you're unsupportive.
My new favorite, I've seen a few people who asked how much I've lost, and I told them and they're all 'wow I didn't realize you needed to lose that much'. Come on. Super awkward.
    Grrr.. people this week. Lol

Somehow I got it in my silly head that if you work hard enough and lose enough that no one will remember who you used to be. I know that is wrong thinking. But the word jumped out at me from the page and I handled it badly!
Today it is just another day. I don't care anymore!
But I think if we give people labels and don't see changes or growth then that is a sad commentary on how we view life. Once in a box of labels, always in a box of labels!
