So happy and desperate!
My but and nurse told me that fluid is the main goal for the first 2 weeks. Its ok not to meet your protein goal in that time. I would not jump the diet though. Your tummy is still healing and super swolen. I was on liquids for 2 weeks. I was aloud to have soups thinned out. I bought Unjury protein chicken soup and protidiet soups. I did 2 shakes a day and soup.

Sleeping 45 degree, for 4-6 weeks!?!
I slept in a recliner for 5 weeks post op. I did the same when I had a hysterectomy 6vweeks prior to vsg. It was so much easier

Alternative to NSAIDS?
Before surgery I took ibuprofen alot! Obviously I quit about 3 months before surgery. Tylenol before surgery did not cut it for me but surprisingly enough it works great on me now

Quest potato chips
Inner surfer girl, thanks for the suggestion on pickles. I crave crunchy and salty. This sounds great

Quest potato chips
I could give up sweets but salty is what I crave. I would be scared to eat those because I may like them too much and binge.

Protein Shake Questions
Syntrax nectar fuzzy navel was the only shake I could tolerate mixed with water. It was and still is a life saver. The only other one I like is my click coffee protein mixed with milk. I have also mixed half milk and half water and it's still good. I like it because it's not too sweet

Roll call all who had surgery JUNE 2015
My plan afterc8cweeks allows wheatctoast and wheat bread products like tortillas. In moderation. I think that's healthy. Protein should be the main food but you need carbs especially if you work out. Right now I only eat 50 to 70 grams of carbs per day and don't eat bread but eventually I don't think a little wheat toast will kill you. I am not fat because I ate wheat bread and quinoa. I am fat because ate white flour and sugar.

Worst Restaurant Food You Ordered?
Omg. Back when I had no idea, I ordered a salad at chili's and it was 1100 calories. I should have ordered a burger with fries and saved some calories. Lol

What's on Today's Menu?

What Are Your Food Ruts?
I am in a rut too. Lol. I love my click coffee protein shake with milk every morning. I eat string cheese, boiled eggs, tuna salad and my favorite....boca veggie chicken patty with a slice of cheese on top. Those are my favorite go to foods. Today though...I had a in and out cheeseburger protein style wrapped in lettuce and it was so good. Obviously I would never do this on a regular basis but I needed a change. I also found a good meat at Applebee. They have a grilled lemon chicken with quinoa. Its under 540 calories. I just ate the chicken though so it was less. Its nice every once in a while to do something different

What is your daily food intake?
I am 7 weeks out and I eat around 800 calories a day. I have 16 ounces of milk with 2 scoops of protein shake in the morning. I will have a strong cheese or boiled egg for snack. Lunch is usually deli meat or chicken. Dinner I have tuna salad or a boca chicken party with 1 slice of cheese on top. Of I am hungry later I have cherries or another seasonal fruit

Why Not Bypass?
If your Dr recommends bypass I would go for that. I know that some get a recommendation for one surgery over the other for health and safety reasons. I know for me the sleeve wasn't originally on the table until they saw that I had a hiatal hernia. Knowing that they could fix that I was cleared for sleeve. I chose sleeve due to vitamin deficiency issues. I also wanted the freedom to live my life without fear of having to cut out sugar entirely. I also wanted to be able to take Excedrin down the road.

I need some pep talks!
Considering what you have been through of think you are doing great. Just try to do something for yourself each week that doesn't include food. I have a pretty stressful hub so I get a massage once a week.

How long were you out of work?
I took the entire 8 weeks off. My surgeon recommended at least 4 to 6 weeks. So many things happen and some people get nauseous, can't keep water down etc.
