  1. Hi Brittany! I am also scheduled for June 9th! Just got my date today! My surgeon doesn't require a liquid diet either. They have us a weight loss goal for before surgery but you can choose how you do it. I was also thinking of switching over to liquids for a couple meals a day so I could get used to it before surgery
  2. Just got my surgery date. June 9th. So excited
  3. Gas x strips are a life saver. I just had a hysterectomy and was so glad I heard about them here on this forum. The gas was probably the worst pain I had
  4. I have not had surgery yet but have experienced dumping syndrome. It is horrible. I sweat profusely, had diarrhea, my heart rate slows to where I feel like I might pass out. I get weak too. It lasts anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. Trust me you will know if you have it or not it's that bad
  5. Call your insurance first. I found out the hard way that my insurance would only cover the surgery if I went to a center of excellence. I had already been referred from my primary care and started the process before I found out.
  6. Go to my bariatric pantry. You can order tons of samples there. I ordered the entire syntax matrix and nectar lines, protein soups and also ordered samples from unjury. I have been told not to order too much because tastes can change. I will probably order a couple tubs. I ordered several sugar free coffee syrups so I can play with changing the flavors. I got those from amazon
  7. I told my husband and parents in my immediate family. I told my boss and my team at work. They were all very supportive. I have decided that if people ask me directly if I had surgery I will not lie about it but I won't offer the information unless asked. Its really a very personal decision.
  8. I don't have a 2 week pre op diet either but decided to start switching over to protein shakes for 2 meals a day. I will have my surgery date next week but know it will be June. 2 weeks prior I will probably do full liquid so it's not so overwhelming.
  9. I am in June too. Just found out I am cleared and should get my date next week.
  10. This is my first post. I am looking at a June date too. I can't wait! I got all my testing done and then got my blood tests back and found out I was severely anemic which pushed my date back quite a bit. I had 5 iron Infusions. I met with my OB/Gyn and found out I had a softball sized fibroid and an enlarged uterus. Long story short. I just had a hysterectomy 6 weeks ago and my doctor just cleared me to go forward with surgery finally!! I don't know the exact date yet just know it will be June.
