    Hooray for all you losers!
I'm almost 7 weeks out and although my pants are getting baggy, my blouses and shirts are ridiculously huge on me. I was going to shop for new blouses over the weekend when I remembered my "other" closet. That's where I would hang clothes that were too tight, plain old too small or would be too small soon (the rate I was gaining was horrendous!). I went "shopping" in my other closet and came out with 10 new or almost new blouses and a couple pairs of slacks! Some had tags still attached!????. I saved that money I was going to use for another time when I can spend it on REALLY small clothes. ????????????Woohoo!

This is your problem, IMO. You are eating a bit more than I am maintaining on. On another board that I'm on, I am maintaining on more calories than most of the other members except the daily cross fitters/runners. I believe that I maintain on more than most because I am a martial arts instructor and put in 15-17k steps a day, not including the classes I teach/attend each day.
Your carbs are high for a sleever. (Again, my opinion.) I always try to make sure my protein far outweighs my carbs and I usually eat around 1200 calories, most of which are protein.
Carbs cause cravings and hunger which might attribute to your snacking.
I know I am not giving you the touchy feely post you want, but I do think I am giving "facts" to help you get back on track -- facts you probably already know, but might need someone else to point out.
I definitely think you can fix this, it's just up to you to put it into action. Can you try to do a full week of all protein/no carbs? You might surprise yourself.

I agree with lipstick lady (apparently some things never change) you are eating a lot of calories. I am almost two years out and unless I eat bad food all day (pizza, hot wings, etc.) because of the small amount that I am able to eat I am usually topping out at 700-8-- calories. You have to watch the juice, wine is my vice and I am embarrassed to say I recently looked at the number of calories I was drinking and was suddenly in awe of the fact that I have managed not to gain weight. If you hate your Protein Shake it is no good so I would suggest chike coffee Protein (if you like coffee) I look forward to drinking it every morning. I also think trying all Protein Shakes might be a good idea just to kind of reset yourself and your relationship with food. Just remember you might not be where you want to be, but at least youre not where you were.

I have been taking pictures along the way and they really help. I feel just as fat as I was +40 lbs ago, but when I look at my pictures, I can see the difference which is a great ego booster. I still have a long way to go (about 85 lbs) so I'll keep taking those pics until I'm at goal. Then I'll let other people take my picture which I never let happen now and in the past. ????

Today I'm six weeks out after having a sleeve
and hiatal hernia repair. I feel great and have lost 40 lbs which makes me super happy. I went back to work after 3 weeks , but since I'm feeling so good and am so energetic, I've decided I'm going to retire early next year and enjoy myself! My husband is all for it so I'll be a slim lady of leisure next year at this time. Life is good!

Right? I often wish I still had my dog as there are always scraps of something. I shop, cook and eat so much less... It is a relief .
Not being driven by hunger and food are wonderful attributes of WLS ⭐️

I wish we could see ourselves as our friends see us. We'd never criticize a friend for a small gain or plateau. I wish we could be kinder to ourselves

I'm 5 1/2 weeks out and have eaten out with my husband a few times. I know what I can eat and how much so I usually get Soup and share a non-fried appetizer. On Friday night we decided to have sushi, one of my favorite foods. I was just cleared to eat anything I could tolerate, so it was a little celebration. I had a small cup of egg drop soup (lots of protein!) and two small pieces of sushi. I was full, satisfied and happy. ????

That feeling you have could be due to nerve endings repairing themselves along with other healing processes your body is going through. Don't worry about the little twinges because everyone has them. Worry about unrelenting pain, extreme nausea and the like. That's when you need to talk to your surgeon or be seen in the ED. If you are still nervous about your twinges though, by all means call your surgeon. A little bit of reassurance goes a long way! Hope you feel completely better soon.

My family and I are on a strict budget, but I was Able to so far save over $300.00, in the past 2 months just by going online and researching products, sometimes even paying pennies on the dollar in comparison to what my doctor's office carried, including Vitamins, I paid $49.99 for a 5lbs can of chocolate Protein, which if I had to buy at my doctor's office would have been $60.00 per bag so $180.00 for the same amount, if your willing to the work and research you can save!!!

I haven't had the surgery yet and I have heard many different responses to this issue. So here is my thoughts about it. For me to be successful at this and not just look at it as a short term change, but a complete life-style change, I need to change my playmates and playthings that got me here in the first place. By that I mean, I need to learn new things, new ways of doing things, new ways of dealing with things. I got re-married 12 years ago and my wife to be asked me to quit smoking as a gift to her. I had smoked for over 20 years and didn't expect that, but I knew it was something I should do,
So I changed my routine, took away the things that I did when I smoked, so no alcohol, no soft drinks (loved Mt Dew) and no coffee for about 2 years until I broke the habit of smoking and coffee. I even hung out with different people to re-train myself. It must have worked, I haven't had a smoke since the day before we got married.
That is the way I will a approach this, not try to figure out how to go back to the things that got me there in the first place, but learn new things to enjoy, I have found I really like ice cold Water with a lemon slice in it instead of the Mt Dew. I guess my guilty pleasure is an occasional glass of lemonade, but besides that, I just drink Water and 2 cups of coffee in the morning. Do I miss the other stuff? Sure, occasionally, but then I say okay, but look at how much things have gotten better and move on. My life will never be the same, I don't want it. I don't want to go back to what I am now. My way didn't work so I will commit 100% to a new way and become the man I need to be.
I am not saying that anyone elses way is wrong or I am 100% right, but I know for me, if I start to make excuses and explain how I can have something that is borderline I shouldn't, I will be quickly be back to doing the dumb thinking that got me here in the 1st place.

That's the way to think, Toler! I can tell you I have been on countless diets throughout my life and I always started with resolve and the best intentions that each time would be the last. Unfortunately, I started out good, but at some point fell by the wayside, unable to resist temptation and would give up. After my sleeve, I still have days when I want a cheeseburger, a donut, or a handful or two of M&Ms, but now I have this brand new superpower: My sleeve! I just can't physically do it because my sleeve won't let me indulge. One bite too much and I have pain or nausea, two feelings I hate. It warns me what will happen which I never had in my previous diet riddled life. I have head hunger on one shoulder, but the thought of pain and misery if I cheat on my other shoulder always wins out! You will see and you will use the tool (yoursleeve) every day. Do this for yourself. This time you can do it because you will have an inner strength in that tiny stomach that will see you through!

    @GirlOnFire
Here's something that might sustain you through your coming WLS journey:
"You do it because the doing of it is the thing. The doing is the thing. The talking and worrying and thinking is not the thing." -- Amy Poehler, Yes Please
Your WLS journey will be a long trip. At times it'll be tough. There will be things you think you can't do. But if you find the courage, you'll find they're not impossible. They're merely hard. And you can make it through.
    Very best wishes.
