  1. @@Elode thank you bunches for bringing a very real possibility to light that is easy to push to the backburner and just not think about. This is a very real fear for me as i tolerate all foods as well. I have to plan everything I eat on the daily or i find myself falling into old habits. I appreciate this post, among your others that I and so many others find insightful.
  2. Congrats! Have a great time and let us know how it goes!
  3. @@Smye I respect you so much as a person who is so transparent and real. Wow, just wanted you to know how incredible you are. You will certainly find the happiness you deserve when the timing is right.

  5. @@Darkplaces I have been an ER nurse for about 10 years, and this sounds very highly suspicious of gallbladder problems. You really need an ultrasound to diagnose gallbladder disease, often there are no abnormalities in the lab work. Before my surgery I was having the exact same pain as you and my ultrasound showed my gallbladder was only slightly enlarged. They decided to go ahead and remove my gallbladder, and afterwords the surgeon stated it was the largest gallbladder he had ever seen in 25 years!! Medicine isn't always a science, so I would be persistent with your doctor to get an ultrasound ordered to check out your gallbladder. I'm not a doctor but it's just my thoughts and experience!
  6. @@amsaf What you are going through is totally normal. I actually wondered after my surgery if I truly had been sleeved because I didn't feel full, didn't feel hungry, didn't really feel anything. It took a good 3 to 4 weeks before I started to feel semi-normal. I have been able to get in my fluids and Protein without a problem, but I certainly feel my restriction now that I am on normal foods. It has been amazing to not have my entire day revolve around food anymore. My stomach is loud and gurgly now LOL, but it is a very small price to pay for great success!! Stay the course I promise you will feel "normal" soon!
  7. As others have said, no big deal at all with the intubation, just a very minor sore throat the next couple days. I did have a drain tube until the next day, and I will be honest it was pretty painful because it sat right under my diaphragm. It felt so much better when they pulled it out and it did not hurt coming out either like I thought it would. Overall I would do it again in a heartbeat for the weight loss success I have had!!

  9. Typically it is because birth-control pills greatly increase your risk of developing clots post surgery. By staying on them you are putting yourself at a very high risk. I would definitely follow your surgeons advice and use a different method prior to surgery.
  10. Mine was 4/23 and I'm down 45 lbs!! Way to go!
  11. @@CanyonBaby Sending love, hugs, prayers and blessings to you and Dave. Know that your bariatric family is endlessly praying for your family. May you find strength in this difficult time. Kristy
  12. @@jennyhurt3 The concern is that you can give yourself a hernia at the incision sites post op by lifting too much. My surgeon has me on a 15 lb. lifting restriction for 4 weeks but every dr. Is different.
  13. I am not sure if you can use the gummy version or not. My center offers calcium chewables that taste like orange Starburst and caramel chewables that are three times a day.
  14. I am almost a month out and have gotten the same thing. It's usually because I have either taken too big a bite of food or am eating too quickly. I'm a nurse so I'm used to shoveling in my meals in under 10 minutes. It's been a real adjustment to learn to slow down and chew well but it certainly helps with the cramping sensation when I do.
  15. Congrats!! Love your sense of humor by the way
  16. Lol!! I needed that laugh!! I have certainly been fighting with the scale this last week or so!! I just keep taking all the advice and keeping on my plan!
  17. @@wannaBthinsoon At least our surgeon is consistent!! Lol!!
  18. I swear the scale has been mocking me!! Lol! I had my sleeve April 23 and am exactly at 200.0 pounds! Can't wait to join you all in Onederland, it's been a very long time!!
  19. Congratulations to you! Beautiful video as well!
  20. Welcome back and congratulations on recognizing that you cannot do it alone. Each person has their own unique journey in this process. Keep your eyes on the goal and you will do fantastic!
  21. @@nugirl402 I am assuming you had the surgery in order to change your lifestyle like many of the rest of us. Our own ways of eating is what led us to having surgery in the first place. This early postop I would certainly never encourage bacon OR pizza. These are both also no no foods on most surgeons post operative plans for the long term. I understand everything in moderation, but it truly makes me shake my head wondering why people would even have the surgery if they're going to just continue to eat the same high calorie foods. I am only about nine days post op and I'm struggling with the same issues you are. But I refuse to partake in contributing to any complications that could arise because of my own gross negligence. Just my two cents...
  22. @@wannaBthinsoon I am having the same issue as yourself. Also my weight loss has completely stalled. I just keep sticking to the plan and listening to everyone's advice. Looking forward to the scale moving again....
  23. Hooray for you! That's fantastic!!
