Did they not give you pain killers?
I had a 3 day supply, and stayed in my lazy boy chair with a comforter, the TV remote, all the Water and broth I could handle, for 2 days....Pure Bliss! I wasn't feeling any pain or discomfort.
(day 3, I was climbing the walls, had to get out of the house)

you have terrible reflux. also pb'ing and sliming. when the food backs up into the esophagus you will have pain. I promise if you suddenly have the symptoms you need to call the doctor and ask for a endoscopy.

Drinking before you eat isn't that big of a deal and the only reason they tell you not to drink after you eat is because it washes the food through your pouch faster and you eat more. I decided the first time I started eating solid food that I wasn't spending the rest of my life with a dry mouth while I ate food and I have drank and eaten at the same time the entire time I've had the sleeve. I hit goal in April and have stayed under it for months. You just need to be cognizant of how much you are eating.

My nutritionist means well but I don't think he has ever struggled with weight and he has given me some pretty inaccurate information. What he tells me and what the my doctor tells me are two rather different things. It is hard to tell when he is correct or not now. To top things off the person I was working with went on military leave a week before my surgery and has never answered my emails since then. He gave me a number of someone else I could talk to but I don't feel like starting over from ground zero with another nutritionist. I feel like I am mostly on my own.

That strawberry cheescake one from Dannon is my favorite as well lol. I also like all the boston cream pie ones and the Strawberry Fage one.

I've done this all without using any kind of NUT post surgery. I find the bariatric forums much more informative.

I was just wondering how many forum members really had faith in their NUT/Dietician and that their prescribed advice would not only help them progress through their journey but also make sure that their plan would assist them in achieving the best outcome possible?
During my time on Bariatric pal, I noticed that whenever a question is posed, someone will often respond with 'check with your nut/dietician' but what if that person's nut is incompetent and not forthcoming with needed information?
I personally don't trust or have much faith in my Dietician team or their prescribed plan. First all, the diet plan that they give to patients is too relaxed and imo is not that conducive to those really want to reach their ideal goal weight and maintain it. The plan is too carb friendly, they give diet examples using rice, Pasta or bread and no real emphasis on keeping carbs low in order to better facilitate weight loss. I thank my lucky stars that I decided to really do research and go on bariatric forums or else I would have been still chowing down on breads and pasta like nobody's business.
Also they're a reluctant on giving you an answer to a lot of questions, Tbh I have given up on asking them anything because I’m always left unenlightened. On a number of occasions, I have asked about ideal carb and fats allowance per day and they always hit you with ' Just focus on Proteins and water' which isn't entirely wrong but I feel that they fail to realise that there's many loopholes in just hawking that advice and ignoring other finer details . For example, I could eat a McLand, sea and air burger from McDonald’s with loads of Water and be covering the objective of getting my Protein and fluids. Technically I would be following their advice to a tee but in actual fact I would have just congested 116g of carbohydrates. If I could change my dietician team I would but things are not that easy with the NHS (UK).
What about you guys? Do you trust your NUT/Dietician?

Protein Shakes have ~ 30g of Protein. It is hard not to get your protein in if you drink even one of these a day. I prefer the vanilla Premier Protein shake from costco. It only has 160 calories.

Wow some of you guys have some interesting doctors. Mine said everything was fair game after about 6 months. The key is moderation which the band allows for.

Not being the fattest person in the room or even one of the fat people in the room is the best thing ever. I love it. Will never take for granted the change in my appearance.

I doubt you can feel your band, but I guess some people can? I can't. My port sticks out like a golfball under my skin.
4 weeks post-op has nothing to do with loosing weight.....theoretically, the band is not even "Working" yet. It has not been activated, just installed.
It took me at least 12 weeks and 3 good fills before things started to fall into place....in the meantime I had to count calories, measure portions, etc....in other words I gained weight because I cannot diet....that's why I had to have surgery. As a last resort.
Give it time, get through this phase then move onto the next phase. The next phase can be very frustrating, AKA as Bandster's Hell....
    But that's another story.
This is a lifetime change, process ( I loathe the term journey)......not an overnight fix.
And remember, this thing DOES WORK!

I try to be patient but the repeat questions over "when can I do all the things that I am told not to?" or "when can I go back to eating anything and everything?" Those get me and drive me insane.
Also not gonna mention any names but the post I see every week that says something to the effect of "I walk 2-3 miles a day and only eat 500 calories but I don't lose" What a lie, not even possible.
I look at my husband and read them to him and he says "walk away" but it is like a train wreck and I have to look lmao

I am with B-52. I simply eat until I feel full which is much sooner than it used to be.

Depends upon how much restriction you have......for me, I simply cannot continue, impossible to do so, impossible to over eat........it's as though if I take one more swallow, it will have no where to go but right back up....I will start to get warning signs a little before, and will have to slow my eating down. But soon after, I'm finished....I could start eating again after taking a break, but that is where the 30 minute rule comes in....otherwise I could graze all day....fortunately hunger is no longer an issue so I have no desire to do so.
Drinking Water will only make it worse, taking the place of food as far a volume (portion size) goes....it does not wash it down, least not for me.
I follow the rules for no other reason other than it is the only way I can eat with the band....I HAVE to chew, I HAVE to eat slowly...putting my fork down between bites helps me slow down.....If I don't follow the rules, it would be impossible to eat at all.....

I just ballpark it. I really don't think our bodies are as sensitive to the minor fluctuation as our minds are. I mean at the end of the day whats the difference between a 220 calorie piece of salmon or 240? It is a miniscule amount in the grand scheme of things.

If you are already in pain the surgery will bring much more with it. Imho I would wait until a couple of weeks after your surgery date to do anything drastic.
