I've really been struggling the past few days. Worrying that I'm screwing it all up... Feeling like I'm just not good enough to succeed... Knowing that at the end of it all, I'm still going to be ugly, and people are going to wonder why I bothered. Ugh, I just want to crawl into bed and pull the covers over my head for the rest of the day.

I am sorry to hear that you are struggling with the concept of finally succeeding at improving your health. Frankly, this is exactly why our bariatric teams include a psychologist. In the process of picking our brains and exposing why we do what we do, they help us see light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. Hang in there. This process gets better. As your body shrinks, your self esteem will grow. And if you have unsupportive people in your life giving you grief about bariatric surgery, keep in mind that it's about your body, your health, and your future. Hugs from Chicago.
