  1. Hey.. Me too!!!! I'm a December 27th-er too! What a wonderful gift! but.. I'd rather have a cookie!
  2. My pain med is liquid, however the anti-nausea drug is a pill. I probably won't need the pill. Maybe the pharmicist made a mistake? Surely, you won't be able to get a horse pill through your tummy band.. ick!
  3. I'm being banded in 2 days! I've felt all the same things.. and even some morbid things.. (like my husband bringing in some hoochie mamma if something happens to me) It's scary! I'm still scared. But.. I know it's whats best for me. Many of the people on here have given me hope, encouragement and lots of support. What are you afraid of? Is it because of losing your lover (food)? Is it because you fear surgery? Really.. what are your fears? Mine was losing my food, and the thoughts of depriving me of my greatest pleasure (food). (which is totally not true, because I will be able to eat pizza again.. just not a whole one!) Remember: Roger Von Oech said it best when he said: “There are two basic rules of life: Change is inevitable and everybody resists change.” Embrace the change, love it, and accept it. We all love you, and just as many are here to support me.. they will be here for you as well! Huggles, Dear One,
  4. I will be getting the realize band. My Dr. was the first one to do that surgery in Ohio. He does more Realize now, but he will use either one. He asked if I had a preference, and I didn't, so they will use the Realize. He said that the port is different. It's not sewn into the muscle, instead it has some interlocking thing that connects the base to the port.
  5. Ok.. I'm getting banded on Dec. 27, and now that it's soooo close I'm absolutely scared to death!!! 3 days.. 3 stinkin days... I'm excited to begin anew, however.. what if I don't come out of surgery.. who will take care of my family? Will my husband re=marry and bring some hoochie momma into my house? What will happen to my dogs? Who will tell my grandchildren about how much grandma loved them. Will everyone talk about how vain I was to have surgery to loose weight, and then b ecause of that vainess I'm dead? I can't tell anyone how I feel cuz no one really knows except for my immediate family... my husband saw how upset I was.. and how I was craving steak, and he told me to cancel surgery if I want to. I CAN'T CANCEL SURGERY.. this is my last hope. I do really believe that I will die when God says it's time to die, and not a minute sooner. So.. what if this is my time?
  6. My doctor told me no baths, but showers are ok. He also said to use Dial liquid to bathe with. Seems bar soap holds onto germs and can grow microscopic mold which can cause infection.
  7. Goodwill and Salvation Army stores are on my list of places to shop. I've noticed that there are more things in smaller sizes than there are in larger ones. We also have re-sale clothing shop.. actually we have many, in our area. That's going to be one of my stops! I've also found a really good seamstress not too far away, so I'll have her alter some of my stuff or show me how to do it.
  8. I found this site by accident!! Love it! I'm in Ohio, near Cincinnati. I'm getting banded on the 27th of December. Welcome neighbor!
  9. I know this is an older thread.. but I wanted to post anyway! Here's my moment: I never thought of myself as overweight, because I still had nice clothes, and could wear cute shoes even if they were a double wide. In my eyes.. I was heavy.. not obese. Othere people even said that I wasn't fat.. just chunky. This summer I had my darling 2 yr old grandson for a month. Dh took a photo of us sitting in a chair, snoozing. It was summer, I had on a sleeveless top and shorts. What I saw in that picture absolutely shocked me. My thighs were as big as my grandson.:faint: That's when I knew I needed something. My date is Next Thursday, December 27th. This summer I will have my grandson, and I will make sure that my thighs are not that big again!
  10. That's me.. can't stand the smell of things. If it smells bad.. I gag.. not to mention putting it in my mouth.. ick!!! Tarheelluv.. have you tried the Profect liquidy stuff?
  11. What's a "bodybugg" ? Do I need one?
  12. GREAT you say??? ARGHHHHHHH will December 27 ever come???????????????????? *giggle* sorry.. I'm just hungry.. *sigh* oh, and Welcome!
  13. I do hope you find help. I'll add you to my prayer list as well. However, hearing your story helps us all. Now we know what you are going through, and it helps us keep watch on our progress. Huggles...
  14. Hey Stevie... We have the same date! I'm also on the pre-op diet. Ick!! My family was upset because they thought since I was on a restricted diet, that they wouldn't get their Christmas goodies!! I assured them.. they would. I'm dedicated to this surgery, so I'm not going to slip up. It's sooooooooooooooo tempting. I hate my pre-op diet. Can't handle that Medifast stuff, so I'm just doing the broth, SF Jello and popsicles.. oh.. and some cheese for protein!
  15. *giggle* I was thinking the same thing!! *giggle*
  16. Yeah.. I'm on the liquid diet too.. through the holidays. The liquid diet is the hardest thing I've ever had to do!!!! Besides.. the Medifast they make us eat is putrid! I'm doing just broths, and Water.. can't handle that food. Yay.. a new December Member!
  17. If you don't like sweets.. I'll trade ya.. I have MediFast.. and it's so NOT sweet.. I'd much rather have Slimfast than that Medifast crap!
  18. ARGHHHHH!!!! I'm soooooooooo jelous!!! I want my Band-date NOW!!! *stomps feet, falls on the floor* BUT... CONGRATS ON YOUR PROGRESS!!
  19. Just remember... MUSCLE weighs more than fat!! That is why you are seeing a decline in your inches but not the weight. But.. IT'S ALL GOOD!!!
  20. Oh.. and I forgot.. I DON'T GET ANY SMALL MEAL!!!! wanna change places???
  21. I became overweight because I didn't tell myself NO! Now, I'm ready to be in control and tell myself NO!! I've heard that we go through the stages of grief when we decide to have this surgery 1. We deny we have a problem. 2. We are angry at ourselves for being like this.. 3. We bargain.. well.. I can have just one cheeseburger.. it won't hurt.. 4. Depression.. because we ate that cheeseburger 5. Acceptance.. we accept that we have gotton ourselves into this mess..(I think this is the next stage for you...) and it's time to "suck it up" and do what is right. It's not easy.. and I will be on my pre-op diet over the Christmas holiday. I'm going to dress up, make all the yummy goodies and have a wonderfully festive time with my family. I'm going to watch them enjoy themselves, laugh and watch the Grandbabies giggle and laugh as we play with their new toys. It's time you said NO! Face up to the decision you made. For Gosh Golly Sakes... YOU wanted this change.
  22. I'm not banded yet, but when I am I'm just going to say that I am watching what I eat *the truth* and exercising *also the truth* No one at my work knows that I'm having the surgery, and I want to keep it that way. It's a personal struggle I've had all my life, and now it's a personal journey to control my weight... I like what Transformer said: "I just force my luscious lips to form the words "Thank you!" "
