      Good deal! Keep it up!

  2. Almost there --- I have now lost 99 pounds from my all time high and am close to a normal BMI. I am just reveling in all the compliments especially from my family and friends. The loose skin is beginning to show and I have lost a moderate amount of hair - small price to pay for health and looks advantages of sleeve. I am thrilled and now looking at the long haul of maintenance. My appetite is much improved which is scarey but I am staying completely away from refined sugar which helps. I have been given an absolute miracle with this surgery and I am deeply grateful. Happy Holidays to all my friends on this forum.

Look at it like this, prior to your surgery your hunger signals were broke, at least now you know what head hunger is. Focus on the loud belly hunger you have, THAT leads the way.! :)

Hi Goatfarmer! Congratulations! I am twelve pounds away from that goal and can hardly wait!

  10. It has rained here in Georgia for a whole week - pouring, flooding, wet wet wet. I am feeling a bit depressed with no energy. Though I am not really physically hungry I am thinking obsessively about food and wish i could just pig-out on some fried chicken. Food tastes different to me now and sometimes I actually forget that I had this surgery until I really start to eat my now uninteresting diet. Just feeling sorry for myself a bit today and wanting to hear from others. This too shall pass I am sure.

I like simple foods and am a Southern girl. Love greens and all kinds of beans & peas. Also fish, chicken, red meat and poultry. I like most foods. Thanks for your help.

    3. Smye

      Smye

No problem. Last question - how is your sleeve doing with meats at this point? Have you had any issues with any foods in particular?

    4. Smye

      Smye

I'll be posting recipes at the link below over the next few days. I think the chicken tenders might be right up your alley - they're no fried chicken, but might not be a terrible substitute.

  11. Just want to report that my infected incision site is now well. I am tolerating thin liquids better than befor and am on a soft food diet. Certainly has improved my mood to put something recognizable in my body. No real complaints. 29 lbs down and already my blood pressure is much improved and so has my sleeping. I am blessed and happy.

I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better. The immediate post-op period sucks for a lot of us, but it's followed by such wonderful changes that we forget all about the discomfort.

  12. Nausea with thin liquids and an infected incision sites. Otherwise doing amazingly well. Back to NUT this week and beginning to exercise. Overall I am thrilled with progress thus far.

      Smye

Oh no re: the incision site. A relatively straightforward fix I understand, but whoa. Congrats on the exercise and progress though. Keep up the good work!

  13. 2 week post op with physician today. Total of 18.1 pounds lost. Dr. Suggs very pleased with outcome of surgery and post op thus far. I am soooo happy!

  16. All my pre-op tests complete and waiting to hear from nurse on Friday with my final pre-op surgery date visit.mhope to get a firm date for surgery. I will be 66 years old on 25th and would love to be able to have surgery that day.mit is will be a kind of "rebirth". I quit smoking 5 years ago on my birthday .mon the other hand would like to celebrate in the usual way with family and friends at an Italian restaurant.started today taking sugar out of my diet in preparation. I am excited and terrified at the same time. Hard to live "in the moment" with such a big event in near future. Hope I do not panic and chicken out. Need some support.

Thnx so much for input. The restaurant rapture was hilarious and I am glad to hear that starting the diet early may make the transition easier after surgery.

You'll still be able to eat all the foods you love down the road. It's all about moderation. Don't think of can/can't eating. It's all about choices. You will have those same choices post-surgery that you had pre-surgery, but your quantity will be much more limited. The sleeve is a wonderful thing! Best of luck!
