  1. @@LipstickLady I totally agree! I'm 3 mo out and just bought my first pair of non wide sandals. It's soo exciting :-)
  2. My surgeon advised not to do it in the hospital room! I guess because of cameras. That never deterred me before :-)
  3. For me it did! My worst reaction to smell happened on the way to church. My husband and kids all stopped and got Starbucks. By the time we got to the freeway I had to pull over and vomit. 3mo out now & I'm much better :-)
  4. @@SaraJay425 I was out of town shopping and didn't pack food. Everyone I was with wanted kfc. They have grilled chicken so I had a breast, pulled the skin off though, dipped the pieces of chicken in some gravy. Chicken and I don't get along well but the gravy helped it go down and stay down. That was around 2 months out.
  5. @@LovinSoul thank you for your reply. I have to buy my daughter's bras at leading lady as well. They are one of the only that I can find small cup with larger band with no underwire. I'll definitely look into lands end. I used to dress her in that brand when she was a little girl :-) @@BLERDgirl yes forever 21! Ugh, I was just at the mall last weekend. Why didn't I think of that? Thank you for your tankini suggestion:-) My daughter loves those and she has Monday off from school. I'll take her shopping :-)
  6. I need swim suit help for my daughter. She is a size 22 from like Lane Bryant. But her cup is size A. I'm having a horrible time finding her a suit. Anyone know of a plus size suit with small bust?
  7. @@Keeper I can't explain you how much I love your husband's analogy. Thank you for sharing :-)
  8. I can wiggle my nostrils. I love to do it at people in very serious moments knowing they can't laugh out loud!
  9. @@Cleo's Mom Tech question answer, just type in the @ symbol followed by the user name. Hope this helps :-)
  10. @@annelisem my nutritionist taught us that every bite matters! Make sure you're not consuming too much also. And Protein first. There are quite a few people on here that say to put a tight reign on your carbs. My rule with carbs is to eat more protein than carb. With that said, I'm almost 3mo out from bypass and I have yet to eat Pasta. (My choice) So quality definitely matters. And food choice is huge! Why fill up on stuff that got us here in the first place? Good luck :-)
  11. @@Velocity that is awesome! Almost 100 down. Good for you :-) I have some of the same struggles as you've mentioned. My surgeon said it can take a couple years for the brain to catch up to the body. Yes, I shall try and embrace the little things, which really are big things! :-)
  12. That's what everyone keeps saying! They say I'm too hard on myself. But yes as long as it's going down I should be happy! Wow 20 day stall. I'd be going batty! It is a testament as to how the clothes are fitting. It's nice isn't it :-)
  13. I think that's about where I was at that point. I also had a "stall" around then. Very normal. Search for stall on here and you'll see it come up a lot! Congratulations on your loss.
  14. @@Velocity I haven't had anything bad. Thrown up a few times but it's because the meat was too dry. My frustration is that compared to many, I'm a slow looser. It's frustrating! I'm following my doctors plan, I must be doing something wrong. I have 120 to loose at this point and lately I'm only dropping 1-2 lbs a week.
  15. I'm actually going into my kids school to volunteer at the book fair :-) I'm still big. But I'm not as big. So I finally feel like I can make an appearance in school without kids saying smack about me to my kids. I hope anyways!
  16. Having the "perfect" bikini body doesn't hold people back at the beach! Haha, srsly! Lol
  17. @@laneydasilva is it worth going through life with the extra 150 lbs and missing out on soo much? Listen, my highest weight was 359. 2 1/2 mo post surgery I'm down to 289. I already look better, feel better, can do things I wasn't up to doing before. Size 28 to a 22 already! My knees feel better, my ankles aren't swollen. I have loose skin, but I'll take that. I'll be able to ride a coaster this summer. In life there aren't any guarantees. But if you want to be healthy and try to live a longer more productive life and have tried many times to loose weight without success, the scare of complications shouldn't be holding you back. Good luck!!
  18. How to Poop at Work: https://youtu.be/4Uvl9Mstj4A This video also covers how to fart at work! I've had terrible gas since my surgery. I've been told it's just an unfortunate side effect. So thought a little humor on the subject might be nice :-)
  19. I just started Torchwood. It's a doctor who spin-off starring captain Jack Harkness. I'm a little disappointed in it as the language is quite foul and is rather sexual. I'm disappointed because with doctor who my kids could watch it, and was hoping torchwood would be the same. So my review is more with children in mind.
  20. My favorite shake flavor by unjury is chocolate splendor. As far as the unflavored, yuck. But, I was using it in my post op period in the liquid stages. I got to where I couldn't mix it in things myself and still drink it. It smelled gross to me. I couldn't even drink Protein shakes for a while post op. I was warned that things I liked preop I might not like post op and I didn't believe it! Well, believe, and good luck to you. And in rereading your post, I don't recommend unjury strawberry. Gag. Srsly, add unflavored to your broths or thinned cream Soups post op. It's good that you're trying all of this out now though! I ordered their sample or starter pack. Good way to try out unjury.
  21. Doctor Who, An Idiot Abroad & Broadchurch. I'm a huge BBC fan of you can't tell!
  22. Hi there! I'm gastric bypass just fyi. My program allows us to eat every 2-3 hours. Small nutritious meals, focusing on Protein. Can you provide some more information, like what you're eating, how often etc? That way hopefully you'll get more responses :-)
  23. Our uhc provided through my husband's job was excellent! I actually had no requirement of waiting on their part. The program I chose though had a minimum 3 mo. requirement. Which in the end I'm thankful for. In that time I learned a lot about food, nutrition and what my new eating life would look like. I hope you have a wonderful experience with uhc as I did.
