Slow loser
I don't eat carbs. I eat less than 20 a DAY. And my protein is 80+ grams a day which is what my surgeon wants me at. I'm 36 and 5'4". Weight day of surgery was 253, weight today is 219. I see people who eat carbs galore and lose weight faster than me.

Slow loser
I am starting to feel very discouraged because of how slowly I'm losing weight. It's been 11.5 weeks since my surgery and I'm down 34 lbs. I've seen some people lose that amount in the first month. Granted, I'm not getting enough water and I'm not exercising as regularly as I should, but I would expect the lack of calories alone would result in faster weight loss. I'm worried about my 3 month post-op appointment on the 28th. I'm afraid my surgeon will be unhappy with my progress. I am already so down on myself about it, I can't handle hearing from someone else that it's not enough. ????

Weight Loss
I was sleeved the same day as you and have lost 27. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed.
-
Anyone sleeved in late July?
How's the weight loss going? How often are you exercising and how much are you doing? Are you meeting your protein and water goals?
-
How much did you lose the first 2 months?
How much weight had you lost by your 2 month surgiversary?

Did your doctor say you couldnt drive for 2 weeks after surgery ?
I drove the day after.

Edamame pasta
I absolutely love this pasta. Unfortunately my surgeon had me cut my carbs back tremendously due to a stall in my weight loss. So I can't have any for a while. When I made it, I added pesto and sautéed shrimp.

Former csection mommies
C-section was way worse. With vsg, you don't feel like your abdomen is gonna rip open with every movement.

Stalled after 3 weeks?!?
I stalled for 2 weeks at week 3. I thought it was normal and wasn't too concerned but my surgeon sure read me the riot act over it.

Calories and protein
I eat a lot of tuna. 2 oz has 16g of protein. I drink one protein shake a day and by choosing the right foods, can get 75-100g of protein in a day. I'm 5 weeks post-op.
-
My doctor is having me eat pureed foods already 3 days post op. Is that normal?
Every surgeon does it different. Follow what yours says.

Stall
I'm there with ya. I didn't lose weight for about 11 days but the last couple of days, the scale has gone down a little. Very little, but it's going down. I'm trying to hang in there but it is frustrating for sure.

For those sleeved on or around 7/29/15
This is 100% the situation I'm in right now. The scale moved a little today so that made me feel a little better, but I'm still at less than 16 lbs lost in what will be 4 weeks tomorrow. 16lbs in 4 weeks is great under normal circumstances, but seeing as how 14 of it was in the first 2 weeks.... it doesn't sound so great. This process is such a mind %#$+.

"Oh I've only lost..."
I'm trying to have your attitude about this. I'm only 4 weeks post and I stalled for about 10 days or so. You see people who lose 90 lbs in 6 months so it's really hard not to compare yourself to them. I want to have a more positive outlook on this process, but it's hard.

Question
I stopped it a couple of months before surgery, but I was taking it for fertility, not diabetes.
-
How long off work did you have?
I took four weeks off, because I could. It's been a much needed vacation. I work in an office as well and realistically would have been fine to go back 3 days post-op. But I had a super easy recovery.

First day eating soft foods
My nutritionist wants me eating 2 ounces at each meal so I do measure it out. It always seems to be the perfect amount of food for my sleeve, although the last two days, I've felt a lot of restriction and haven't been eating as much.
-
Sample day of eating
You should ask your own surgeon, but mine recommended 2 ounce (1/4 cup) when eating meals. I always limit myself to 2 ounces of whatever I'm eating (yogurt, tuna, etc).

HELP! Exercise? How much?
My surgeon released me for cardio at 2 weeks post-op. He just didn't want me lifting weights. I am 3.5 weeks post and haven't exercised at all yet. I plan to do 30 mins a day and work up to an hour.

Costco Rocks! And NSV.
I don't care for the chicken salad. I wanted to like it cause it's so convenient, but the texture of the chicken is off putting for me. I think it's by GoodFoods or something?

Help ! I haven't pooped in 7 days!
My surgeon gave me milk of magnesia and it works like a charm. Too good in fact. ????

For those sleeved on or around 7/29/15
I was sleeved on 7/29 and am down just under 15 lbs since surgery. I lost 13.8 in the first 2 weeks and the last 10 days I've been holding steady. I have lost about 2 lbs in the last 10 days but the scale is fluctuating up and down with those 2 lbs depending on the day. I had heard about the 3 week stall, which is what I am experiencing... but I never knew it would mess with my head so much. I am really concerned about my 1 month post op appt and what my surgeon will say when I've only lost a couple/few pounds since my 2 week post-op appt. ????

How much weight have you lost since the day of surgery? What was your starting weight and current weight?
-
Eating before its time ..
I don't understand why a nutritionist would advise against having protein shakes post-op. Calories are not something you should be worrying about at all, you NEED the protein and it's impossible to get enough without drinking shakes. When I went for my 2 week post-op visit, I had lost TEN POUNDS of muscle mass because I hadn't been getting enough protein. Ever since then, I've been getting 80 grams per day. It's really hard, but it's necessary.

explain carbs please
My nutritionist says no starchy carbs until I have lost at least 75% of my excess weight. The only carbs I'm allowed are the carbs naturally found in fruits, veggies and legumes. I'm not to have any bread, rice, pasta or potatoes.
