    January 2015 Buddy Group anyone?

I think my nausea and vomiting was from the anesthesia. My doctor was concerned that I may have scar tissue from past hernia repair, so I was given a higher dose of anesthesia. I've been put to sleep numerous times and that was the first time I've ever had an reaction like that. I was scared at first, until the doctor came through and told me it wasn't abnormal. The gas on the other hand.....OOOOWWWWEEEEE....was like punishment. I hear some people say they asked the doctor before hand to make sure to release the gas. Wish I had known that!!

    January Sleevers ❄️

My dr prescribed me liquid tylenol. Thank goodness I haven't needed it yet because getting my daily liquids is enough intake for now.

Glad to hear you are doing well. Some of these so called medical professionals are anything but professional. They don't know or understand your reasons for doing the surgery, and frankly it's none of their business.

I'm having gas issues too. So far I'm doing ok with the protein and water...I don't want to get dehydrated and end up back in the hospital. Try drinking some mylanta. That should help. I will get better, that's what I keep telling myself.

    January 2015 Buddy Group anyone?

Hello my January buddies. I pray that everyone is doing well and in good spirits. Okay, now to my experience with surgery. As I stated before my arrival time was 530a on 1-13-15 and my surgery time was 730a. Well I get there, check in and get taken in back by the nurse. She checked my weight...12 lbs down thanks to pre-op diet. I get changed into my hospital attire and they get the IV going. All ready huh? Nope. They come in and tell me that I was my dr first case, but he had just been called into an emergency surgery and I'll be laying there waiting a couple extra hours. He came by and talked to me and told me it wouldn't be that long and to just relax. Cool So about 930a things get to moving. Take me in , get me to sleep and next thing I remember I was in my room. I had no incision site pain...only gas, so I didn't have to use the pain pump they gave me. I did however have a lot of nausea and vomiting. It scared me at first because it was bloody (sorry), and it lasted the entire day. They took me to do the leak test and I thought they were going to cancel because I kept vomiting....funny thing though, I held that dye down so I could get through the test but as soon as I got back to my room it started again. I was given all kinds of nausea meds and patch behind the ear. Well they got the nausea/vomiting controlled and started me on my liquids so I could come home on time and I did. :-) I'm still dealing with gas, but it's moving through me slowly. Still no pain though.

Awww thanks so much for those kind words. I really appreciate it. I've been trying to keep myself as busy as I could today so I wouldn't have much time to sit and panic. It's good to hear that yours went wonderful and I accept the vibes and will pass mine on to the next person just as you did. :-) It's good to have someone holding my hands and I will remember you Paula! Thanks a bunch and I will check in when I can afterwards.

Awww I am super happy for you. You will do fine.....not sure it they taught you the breathing technique, if they did remember to use it. I'll get my check in time on tomorrow and post it. Meanwhile you try to sleep as comfortable tonight as you can and we'll talk after the surgeries. Best wishes

Are you ready for our big day? I've been packing a few things today too. It seems so unreal. My husband is excited again so, glad he's back on board with me. Can't handle my own nerves and his too...lol.

    Calling January Sleever????

I'm doing the same...trying to get as much done as I can. Plus I homeschool my daughter, so my assistants will be taking over for a few days and I have to get her work packet together. It's actually keeping my mind occupied, so I'm not dealing with too much nervous. Best wishes to you. Mine is 1/13 so I'll update when I can on that day.
