  1. Hmm. An extremely small bite that is weird. Definitely not ready for that food. I would call your doctor or your nurse and see what they think. I'm sorry that you are going through this
  2. It might be impossible now, but every time you eat crap food you are stretching your pouch and allowing for overeating later in a matter of months. You've got to establish healthy eating habits now. NOW. Get counseling. After reading about your in-laws, they sound like an extremely dysfunctional bunch. I'm so sorry for what you and your husband have been through, but you guys have got to get out of there and get a healthier life. And perhaps they'll see that the "easy way out" is what they are doing: not doing anything but destroying themselves. Success is something you work hard at and I know that that's what you will do. I truly feel sorry for those teenage girls in that house who are already so sick. Deep down they've learned what healthy eating is, why it's important. Deep down they know what they're doing is wrong. They are incredibly sad.
  3. Google Muscle gel or ISO 20, FrogFuel, etc. there usually whey protein in a gel that's only about 4 ounces to choke down instead of a big shake. It comes in a little envelope
  4. 1 week post. whey Protein shakes make me want to vomit. Every time. Can't stand smell. I'm not getting my protein in and I've still got a week on full liquid. Has anyone had better success with protein gels? If so which brands? TIA
  5. Today is my day. Who else is today? Skin prepped, mouth dry, so excited! Please send prayers/good vibes.
  6. These help so much! Yes I see bruising with fresh 2-5 day ones (expected) but those of you 2+ weeks out can hardly tell. You all look great and thanks so much you eased my mind a great deal!
  7. This would be an interesting research project. I'm in the wrong order but same concept. Left my verbally abusive husband ("fat cow" and worse), then realized how empowering big change can be and started researching WLS. I think when one person makes a big change the other will inevitably feel left behind if he/she doesn't jump on the healthy change bandwagon too.
  8. Man. This is good advice for just about anything!!! :-) I'm sitting here eating sugar free Jello jIgglers and hating the preop diet. 2 days to surgery. WE GOT THIS.
  9. Your mom sounds like she is making it about herself. Is she overweight? Projecting her weight issues onto you? Incredibly selfish. Do your thing and don't look back.
  10. Thinking of all 12/16ers as I sit here doing my preop appointments and labs. Good vibes and prayers go out to yall.
  11. Way to go @@Amy Carter and @Davis153. Get some walks in to help with gas pain. Hope you get good rest. Another huge round of surgeries tomorrow.
  12. @@gigim84 have you ever had a CT scan, MRI or biopsy done? That would be the only way they could tell. Lab results help but do not provide a clear picture.

  15. Wow it feels good just to know I'm not alone on this one. I'm on day 3 and amazingly did not have a headache today.
  16. I had to wait almost 30 days with BCBS as well. But they are pretty good if you meet their criteria. Call them to check too.
  17. I'm a week from surgery and trying to wean off coffee. Usually have 4 cups a day. I know I know, but I'm a nurse so it's an occupational hazard. Tried one cup today and had headache all day. Tylenol not helping and can't take Advil. Anybody have any tips?
  18. Mine is Friday the 19th! Sooo excited. Found out 2 days ago
  19. Jess I got the call was a week and a half notice so I'm in a similar situation as you. Very excited head is spinning :-)
  20. I LOVE child life specialists!!! Such sage advice from all of you. Thank you!!!
  21. I should explain that our play is pretty physical. We play a lot of sports outside and wrestle some times on the floor so those are the things I have to explain we can't do for a few weeks. I guess I should just keep it simple like you said
  22. Mine is December 19. There is a support group for December surgeries that I joined but it's not very active. We should all join it
  23. I am single mom to an almost 5 y.o. and I have no idea how I am going to explain my surgery to him. My parents are going to take care of him for a couple of days, but I am dreading explaining to him why i have to go to the hospital for a night or two. Don't want to scare him. also have to explain that we can't physically play for a couple of weeks. any advice?
