  1. It is on the WE Channel....I sure hope they follow up on the woman that wasn't losing. I'm anxious to see how she is doing. But I didn't think her husband was taunting her....her job was tasting food, I think. Carrie
  2. Give it up, Linsey...just be careful and no hanging from chandeliers!! Carrie 7/25/05
  3. Andrea - I think the doctors just want to make us healthy people. And caffeine and smoking and drinking alcohol keep us from being as healthy as they want us to be! I also feel that's why they encourage us to drink so much water.... Carrie 7/25/05
  4. My doctor told me to wait 1 hour after eating. I drink 16 oz. first thing in the morning, before breakfast. Then make sure I drink at least 24 oz. before lunch. Then 24 oz. before supper. I try not to drink much after supper because I hate having to get up and pee all night long. Water is a real problem for me....I drink flavored water (Propel), Crystal Light, and Minute Maid diet Mango drink.
  5. Butt Naked about every 10 days at home in the morning after I pee. In the doctor's office I wear the lightest clothes I have and I take off my shoes. Carrie 222/195.5/125
  6. I live on Lake Conroe, 50 miles north of Houston, and had mine done at Herman Hospital in the Medical Center by Dr. Terry Scarborough. He is a great doctor and the fee includes 1 year of fills. Carrie 222/197/125 Banded 7/25/06
  7. I don't even know why there is an argument. Everyone chooses what they think is right for themselves. I applaud anyone who is finally doing something to become healthier, whether it is GB or LB. Good for us all! Carrie 7/25/05 222/197/125
  8. Hi There - Dr. Scarborough is also my doctor. I got my band on 7/25/05. I have lost 22 lb. Dr. Scarborough does not like you to lose too much too fast. Five pounds a month is all he wants. If you lose more then he doesn't give you a fill. I really like him and his assistant Connie. I have had 3 fills and still do not feel a lot of restriction. I just can't seem to tell when I am full. I think it should come after 4 or 5 fills. I have 2 cc in a 4 cc band. It is very weird, because I have fell "off the wagon" 2 different times and I was also a bottomless pit. However, when I have eaten too much of a balanced meal, I feel totally full. It is very strange. The belching may be your body telling you that it is full and to stop eating. Sometimes I get the hiccups and I believe that is a sign to stop also. Good Luck, Carrie 222/199/125
  9. I agree - there is no correct answer. You are going to have to find out what you can and cannot tolerate as you go along. My diet consists of everything I cook for my family. I just eat smaller servings. In fact, I would guess that I am eating less than half of what I was. Works for me! Carrie 222-199-125
  10. We waited about a week.....just do what you intuition tells you. (No hanging from chandeliers, though!) Carrie 222/200/125
  11. We've all been there! Just remember tomorrow is a new day. Be sure not to get on the scale....you may have a little Fluid gain or something like that. Don't dwell on it and you will be fine.... Good Luck, Carrie 222/200/125
  12. I wore stretch pants and baggie tshirt. I got there at 5:30 am and was home by noon. I didn't wear my panties or bra going home.....
  13. Oh my gosh! I forgot about the fried twinkie I had last year....Delicious....but I can resist. Now, the Fletcher's Corndog is a different thing. I was going to just eat a couple of bites and then let my hubby have the rest. I hope I can follow through!!!
  14. Well, I can also eat a lot if I want.....I have always had to stop when I thought I should be full. I've never felt full. Even the 2 times when I fell off the wagon and binged for an afternoon, I never felt too full or limited. I don't get it at all! Carrie 7/25/05 222/201/125
  15. I don't follow any diet. I have learned over the years that I'm not very good at that. I eat Protein and veggies for my meals. I only eat on a saucer so that I don't overload my plate. It works for me. I just cook for my husband and eat the same things. Whatever works for a person is what they should use. I estimate that I am probably eating less than half of what I used to eat. It is almost embarrassing in a way because we have so much more leftovers than before. A loaf of bread lasts a week. I usually end up throwing it out or giving it to the ducks. Carrie 222/201/125
