leanora27801 got a reaction from fatcinderellasball in 6 months out... What's your progress?
    I'm 6 months today and my HW was 439, SW 382, and today I weigh 287. I haven't weighed under 300lbs in 18 years.

October 30th will mark the first anniversary of my surgery. What a year it has been. I am doing 40 minute sessions on a Cybex Cyclone 850 stepper at intensity level 4, burning 590 calories in a daily workout. Sunday I cycled 16 miles in addition to that. (Monday I took a day off) I am also taking Nitric Oxide. I have discontinued 3 medications, one for A1C (Metformin) and two for blood pressure (Amlodipene and Doxazosin). Blood pressure has been ranging in the 130s and 70s, resting pulse in the high 40s to low 50s.
Last year my waist size was 54 inches and I tipped the scales at 350 pounds. To date I am down about 120 pounds and my waist size is 40 inches. I've got about 40-45 pounds to go and the weight loss has slowed to a crawl, but I am not in it to see lower numbers on the scale, I am in it for my lifestyle and health and the scale will adjust accordingly if I do all the right things with self management.

The surgery is no magic bullet. It will help you lose about 75% of your excess weight fairly easily, but after that point it becomes a tool that you have to use, and how effectively you use it all depends on the skill you employ in that endeavor.

Walked into one of my favorite stores yesterday to buy some better fitting slacks for work and guess what....my new size is no longer in the big and talll section. 70 days post op and down almost 70 pounds. I'm still a work in progress, but it's been a great journey so far.

I'm 10 weeks out and did a real purge of my dresser. I'm one of those that held on to clothes that "I'll get into when I lose a couple of pounds".
I was giggling to myself as I tried everything on.
Everything was too big. Nothing was wearable. The little stuff was 2 sizes too big.
The down side is I really need to go get a few things that fit. But I know I'll be able to wear them a few weeks and that's it.
    Thrift stores here I come!
I'm going to keep the clothes I wore to the hospital to remind me.

I can't tell you how cool that is to hear from you both.
We are STILL in the month of your surgeries and you are having this level of success already.
This is highly encouraging to me as I'm beginning the pre-op diet today. I know it'll suck....but the benefits are going to be great. Looking forward to cleaning out my section of the closet....one oversized piece at a time.

A month before surgery, I could barely fit into my size 46 jeans, I was really probably a size 48. I am now 11 days post-op, and I went into my closet to pull out my "old" size 44 clothes, and guess what? They were still a little big! I happened to have one pair of jeans at size 42, and they fit, although a bit snug.
I lost a tremendous amount of weight during my 10-day pre-op liquid diet, and then I have continued to have significant weight loss since the surgery. I am so happy.
I am keeping one pair of my big pants and shirt forever, just so I can remind myself of where I was when I'm feeling low about a stall or something.

As a dude, there will be no bikini.
Just had surgery and have several months before beach season arrives. I'm looking forward to a few beach trips next Summer.
Flip flops, swimming trunks and optional t-shirt is how I pan on rolling.

Hey there. I don't have any extra skin on my chest area. My boobs became small and nicely shaped. I have some loose skin on my belly area and need a Tummy Tuck. That's about it. I've been lucky.

    You look phenomenal!!!
Can I ask.... With your body looking as insanely good as it does... With as much weight as you've lost does your chest have a lot of extra skin?
I'm about three inches shorter than you and am nearing into range of my goal but the closer I get to goal I feel like I wear a bra to hold the skin now and not the girls...

These photos are from the day I entered the hospital for surgery, dec 4th 2014, and today!! I'm 5'6. I started at about 250 pre-op and am now 121 lbs.
Pretty sure I've reached goal although I feel like I may go to 115 for some bounce range. Losing very slow now.
    It's quite a ride!!

I'm sure I will struggle with this too! It's insecurity and just being used to being big for so long. You all look beautiful and should be proud of yourselves! I'm hoping to be there soon! November!!!

I have finally opened my eyes to all the progress I have made. I was still seeing the 439 woman I use to be. I'm down to 266 currently. The second photo is my earlier months progress and the first photo was yesterday while I was out with my family.

After the "Weight Loss" stage you pass into the "Maintenance" stage. In this stage, the goals and rules change slightly. I have put together a short article on the second stage that may be of some help. It is available here http://www.breadandbutterscience.com/Surgery2.pdf
Also I may revise this webpage in the next few weeks that will even give some more ideas. So you might check back on the link.
