Slimsoon1988 got a reaction from virgogirl67 in I Want a Drink!
I'm definitely going to wait a bit longer. But I do need some wiggle room here. To tell a 26 year old to never drink again is tough. I've never been a big drinker but having a glass of wine with friends on the weekends would be worth the calories. That day I would hit the gym harder.
I think these type of strict requirements should be based on the individual. For some, alcohol is a slippery slope.. However my slippery slope is ice cream and chips, which im staying away from like a plague.

I'm interested in this topic. I'm also interested hearing from people who actually drink. At 26 years old it's unrealistic to say I will never drink again. Yes it's high and calories and carbs but you log it and adjust your diet for that day. Currently, I'm a month out and I plan to have A drink on weekends once I get about 4 months out.

Celebrate your 25pd loss. Really who loses 25pds in a month! That's awesome! Just follow your plan. You also may want to take a break from the scale, eventually the weight will come off. Many people face a stall in the 3rd week post op for unknown reasons.

I drove my 6th day and was back to work on my 7th. As long as you are not on any pain meds and you feel you can handle it, then drive slowly and do what you got to do.

It's so weird that doctors have different eating timelines. Some of you have been eating eggs 4 days out of surgery?! Wow! I was sleeved on 2/25 and can't have eggs until I'm close to a month.

I'm convinced I have one of the most conservative programs in the country. Even at 3 weeks out im not allowed Soup, just broth. My next advance is in 2 weeks. Who knows what they will allow me to eat.

I've lost 14pds in 14 days. I really hope I'm not a part of the 3 week stall.

In addition to all of the above I do the Soup broth that adds a bit more calories. And I drink Vitamin water zero, which has more vitamins and electrolytes. Maybe give that a try.

Slimsoon1988 got a reaction from Sareena Davis in Young sleevers! Was it worth it? How is your quality of life? Would you do it again?
I'm too interested in what others have to say. I'm 26 years old and was sleeved a week and a half ago. Before getting the surgery I too feared I wouldn't enjoy food/life after surgery. But from what I hear from many of the veterans is that eventually I will be able to eat everything I did before surgery but just smaller amounts. Obviously I would go for Protein and healthy options first. This eased my mind. I still want to enjoy cookouts, dinner with friends, dates. And it seems all of that will be possible.

Slimsoon1988 got a reaction from x0CheekzVSG in Freaking out! (Scared of Surgery)
For months I have been President of the Cool club when it came to getting my sleeve. Now 6 days before surgery the freak out is here. The thoughts of death and complications have me worried. I try to assure myself that I will be ok. I am doing my best to stay positive. I'm 26 with a 40BMI, I hope my age and weight is a positive for the healing process (mostly age). How is everyone coping with the scary part of surgery? Tips and advice would be highly appreciated.

Slimsoon1988 got a reaction from BrandNewCB in Day 3
The IV fluids, your new swollen gut, and the lack of moving your bowels contributed to the weight gain. It is normal for some.
I'm on day 7 and I feel much better. The first 3 days are rough. Speedy recovery!

Slimsoon1988 got a reaction from mommidoodle in 3 days post op
Hi all,
Since everyone in the preop forum has been so great to me over the past few months, I thought I would put my post op story here as a check in.
Today makes 3 days since surgery. I'm still in the hospital. I'm being released in a few hours. I'm only in the hospital because my first two days I wasn't getting in as much liquids as they would have liked, but by day 3 I corrected that..The only pain I feel is the pain from the incision and gas pains. I've never had true gas pains until after this surgery. Both of my pains are being managed through medication and walking around the hospital. After surgery, I feel that I walk like a mummy but hopefully that would soon change.
In the hospital im drinking broth, Apple juice, and Water. I can't imagine me having anything more than that. I'm so stuffed after a few sips, but I'm sure as time goes on that will change.. I am interested to see how I will tolerate my Protein Drinks that I have at home.
Anyways, I can't think of anymore. Again, I want to thank everyone for their support and let you all know I'm fine.. For those who have upcoming surgeries coming up Good Luck and Best Wishes!
