  1. I had my surgery on Nov. 12th, between the operation and my 2 week followup on the 26th of Nov. I lost 17lbs since then I have only lost 10. I feel like I have stalled miserably the doctor told me I should easily lose 10% of my body weight by my next appt. which is the 23rd. That 10% would be about 38 lbs and and I am not even close. Wondering if anyone else went through this and what they did to correct or get past the stall. I do swim for about a hr each day Monday thru Friday and I am getting my Water in. The real slowdown happened when I was allowed to have soft foods again. I have followed the recommended diet and types of food I should be eating. I do have one protien shake a day to boost my protien. I am just frustrated because I am not reaching my goals and I am not where the Dr. said I should be.

Sitting in preop waiting my turn...not nervous just uncomfortable on the bed the lady who did the iv did a great job!
  6. Sitting i preop waiting my turn...met with anethiologist just sitting here un patiently.... Lol
  7. Mine is on the 12th as well I have been on the pre-op diet for 5 days now I did cheat on day 3 and had 2 slices of turkey lunch meat, it was divine...lol. However I have felt much better since and finding it easier to stick to it. I too love food and it has not been easy seeing my family eat dinner and others at work eat normal. I guess I feel lucky though, those at work are encouraging me to stick with it that change is for the good. I also have a calander on my desk marking down the days this has helped me to get through this. If I can do it you can too!!! I thought I would never be able to do it. Seeing my diet is liquids only 3 protien shakes a day broth, sugar free Jello and sugar free popsicles that's it I have found that 6 popsicles a night helps...lol only 15 calories per popsicle. Since I started on Nov. 2nd I have lost and additional 9lbs. So it is worth it, think of the positive I also chew gum all day long now, which really helps just rememeber to drink lots of Water I am somewhere around 80 oz of water a day now. Good Luck and Hang in there you can do it, and make sure you do see the therapist afterwards you do not want to replace your habit with even something worse. Stay Positive and you can do it.

I am having my done at the Barix clinics just north of Philly, Surgery is next Wed. the 12th. I am in my third day of the 10 day liquid diet. I really like the Barix Clinic, I feel really comfortable there. This liquid diet thing is tough but, it will be worth it.
  10. I am having it done at the Barix Clinic in Langhorne PA, I have to drive 3hrs each way, which kinda sucks, but I feel really comfortable with their program. I was in another program for 2yrs and everytime we would get close to surgery I would never feel comfortable would only have and uneasy feeling so I always backed out. So I decided to switch programs and doctors, I now feel so much better about my decision. Also the other program didn't offer the sleeve and that is what I wanted, I didn't like that they had to re-route the intestines. I thought I would be more nervous only being a week away from surgery, buy I am feeling very comfortable with my decision and looking forward to the new me. I am looking forward to being able to stay up with my kids and not always having to tell them to slow down.... The liquid diet is not bad so far I start my 3rd day today, I really only fell hunger when I wake up in the morning so I drink a bottle of Water to quell that right away. 8 more days till surgery!
