    Please... anyone?

Unfortunately I'm in the same boat. It's not just sugar for me, it can be sauces like Honey Mustard salad dressing or the grease something was cooked in also sauce on chicken wings. I have to be very careful what I eat. I also can not eat and drink at the same time. Mainly because it fills me up quick but it will also make me dump if I eat something like bread or cake.

    Gallbladder issues

Thanks for the info! I do not have gallstones because I had an ultrasound but I do have sludge and pain on my right side. I have to eat clean or I get this pain that's similar to extreme gas pain. It hurts!! I will hang on to this in case my situation changes.

    People and their opinions

I had that same problem and it actually made me second guess my weight loss goals. Then as @@Dkdebose said they didn't have a problem when I was pushing 300lbs so their opinions no longer matter. I have to do what's best for me and my health. Now I'm back on track. I hit the 60% of excess weight in my 9th month so now I can go as far as I want. Good luck to you but block out those negative comments and keep doing you.

Starting my journey - Boston Ma

Surgery can be scary because you are not in control and your life is literally in someone else's hands but it really is not bad. My biggest concern for you and your upcoming procedure is that it's not your decision. The way your post read it seems like everyone else thinks it's a good idea but you. This is a major lifestyle change and only you go through it. This has to be your decision regardless of diagnosis and Doctor recommendations. If you were 100% sure you wouldn't have fear you would have anxiety to get the party started. I advise you take a deep and hard look at everything and make a decision that's right for you. I was 5'10 and no one knew I weighed almost 300lbs because I carried my weight well. It wasn't about appearance it was about health. I had some of the same issues that you have plus high blood pressure. I'm almost 10 months post op and 84lbs down. I feel great!! Good luck girlfriend. I'm originally from Mattapan but I've never heard of the hospital you're having your surgery. I wish you the best.

Tall Women, Tell Me Your Story!

I'm 5'10 and I weighed 287 before surgery. I am currently 215 at 9 months out. My primary care doctor suggested 170 but I'm not sure I want to look like that again. I was 154lbs in high school 20+ years ago. I took this picture a week ago. Here is a picture before

    16 weeks Post op

Congrats!! That's awesome! I'm 32 weeks (8 months) and I'm down 73 lbs and counting. I don't get on the scale that often but I have been at 223 for a while now. I work out and try to eat healthy. I'm not counting calories or anything. I just try to eat protein first.

    What's for breakfast?!

I enjoyed reading everyone's post on breakfast. I'm pretty basic so I have oatmeal but I will add raisins to off set the sugar. I also use Almond milk. Some mornings when I get to work, I may get a few slices of bacon and a little grits. I don't like grits so I mix it together just to give me a better taste. I can't finish it but I get a few bites in before I have to throw it away.
  12. I totally get your rant. I'm 5'10 so it's always been hard to find clothes in a store regardless. Now I can find long slacks or tall pants. I can even find shirts that fit off the rack. I'm 7 months and I actually enjoy going onto stores but I only buy things on sale. I had my procedure in March so maxi dresses was a recommendation and I did just that. It helped save on money and questions. Now I did buy some jeans because the weather is changing but I got a 14 I will be wearing them for a while. Good luck!

    Feeling depressed

@@saraburnett It will pass but you are too early to try to hang out especially with people that don't know you had the procedure done. The time flies by so focus on your recovery and getting out of puréed foods into solids. Just a heads up, even on solids you can't eat much and you may find that things you could eat before will make you throw up. I stayed away from people that didn't know until I was on solids and figured out what worked and what didn't. You have your husband to hang out with and I had my guy friend so the depression was short lived for me but I went through it. I regretted having surgery. He would eat so fast and I felt I wasted his money but it was all in the process. My co-workers hated going to lunch with me because I couldn't eat much. I'm 7 months and now I can fake it and eat a lot more than I could at 3 months. It will get better. Keep your head up!! Good luck.
