  1. I weigh myself every morning. I think I like to torture myself, as I am turning out to be a slow loser. I only lost 6.6 lbs. last month and so far this month 4.2 lbs ( can I please lose at least one more by Monday?). I will be 4 mos. post op on 6/3.
  2. Hmmmm. I wasn't sure what a naked kitty was. Now that I've seen one I'll have to admit they are fascinatingly ugly, and yes, I am a girl. @@LipstickLady, ever the provocateur!
  3. @@JustWatchMe You sure find some funny sayings! Love them all!
  4. @@CanyonBaby Thanks for the update. I remember you and your husband Dave in my prayers everyday, so yes, there are prayers going for you both from all over the country and perhaps even other countries as well. Lots of love coming your way! God bless you.
  5. Hello! You are right in that this is a great site. I have learned so much from people on this forum.
  6. Good luck to you on your surgery and hopefully an uncomplicated recovery!
  7. @@4MRB4PHOTO That is hilarious! Laughed out loud and startled my dog.
  8. I bought a quart of take out sesame chicken. So good! I had 5 meals and a snack from it! I think I like it too much- it could turn into something dangerous for me.
  9. I was advised 15-30 min. before eating and 30 min. after. The 15 min. before is pretty easy to follow for me, so if I need a drink and I need to eat the drink goes first, then I only have to wait 15 min. to eat.
  10. @@CanyonBaby Pray boldly! Remember there are many prayer warriors on this site, keeping you and your husband in prayer. I know God will help you through this, I am so sorry that you must endure such a hardship. My heart is with you, take care of yourself and your beloved husband.
  11. @@CanyonBaby I hope your husband's surgery went well. I have had you in my thoughts and prayers all week. God bless you,I pray all is well.
  12. I went to an information meeting in September and had surgery in February. One of my first appointments in the hoop jumping phase was the dietician. She had me eliminate all carbonated beverages, caffeine, eating on smaller plates, no eating while watching television, waiting between bites( put your fork down) etc., etc, etc. It really prepared me for life after surgery. So think of this time as a training period. It actually goes by quickly.
  13. Welcome to the forum! This site is full of helpful, encouraging people.
  14. Just arrived in onederland this week. Are we supposed to celebrate? I haven't planned anything, just enjoying that joyous number on the scale.
  15. Everyone recovers differently. I had a pretty easy recovery and felt great and like myself again in 5 days. Hopefully yours will be uncomplicated too.
  16. Chocolate tastes like poop? If only............. Really had a chuckle from this and some other replies.!
  17. @@DreamingAzure Interesting post. Good thing we don't have thought bubbles above our heads in real life, huh?
  18. @@CanyonBaby I will be thinking about you this week. I don't have anything amusing to share right now, just wanted you to know you will be thought of this week. Encouragement sent your way~~~~~~
  19. I also had to wait 3 months before eating nuts, seeds, skins, membranes.
  20. My first thought was to thank God that I had survived and simultaneously relief that the surgery was over. My next thought was about how nauseated I was, which I expected since that is how I react to general anesthesia, but assumed they would manage it better. They soon had that under control though.
  21. I have read on this forum of many people that had their Hiatal hernia repaired at the same time as their sleeve surgery. I don't think the Hiatal hernia precludes the VSG surgery.
  22. Did you truly eat six pieces of chicken? How is that even possible? I couldn't eat that much and I am 3 1/2 months post op, I'm not sure people even farther out from surgery could consume that much. As Kindle said you need to be very careful this close to surgery that you don't injure your staple line, the complications from that would be terrible.
  23. Well, for a "ramble"(your words) that was quite positive. You are doing well.
  24. @@nprcowboy Wow, good to hear from you and you sound so positive after all your complications! I really feared for your life for a while. You have done well! I am three and a half months out and just hit wonderland yesterday. That seems like a milestone. I think losinghope15 could use some of your wisdom from all of your post-op experiences.
  25. Ditto walking, praying, venting with a sympathetic friend.
