10 days post op
I have never had any bad symptoms from eating. I actually went through a period where I questioned whether or not they did the surgery at all. Just chew well, eat slowly and listen to your body. You will be great!

Want more
I am struggling also, I am almost 8 months and have 15 lbs. what has been working for me though is logging every bite, not eating after dinner and exercising 6 days a week. Make sure you get your fluids.

Decaf. Coffee
I drink full caffeine coffee!

Decaf. Coffee
Just be careful with liquid calories. They won't fill you up, so it's really just a waste. I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk (30 calories per cup) and I use about 1/2 cup for a 16 oz cup of coffee. Good luck!

Does anyone use an app on their phone?
The App Store has quite a few new ones that actually track water, vitamins, medication etc. I use my fitness pal, but I am not tracking water etc. it just has the most extensive database of food, I don't pay that much attention to the calories as the nutrition and volume

Your scale or only the Dr.'s scale?
Enjoy this phase! It is really remarkable!

No longer living on 300lb Blvd.
That is great! Congratulations!!

Your scale or only the Dr.'s scale?
I weigh two times per week using my own scale, I weigh the exact time of day, wearing the exact same thing.
-
Weight gain in hospital?
I would track it as weight lost.

Skin?
I am 45 and have lost 94 of my 111 lb goal. I have extra skin on my arms that I am not happy about, but I am going to build some muscle and consider surgery later. My stomach isn't that bad, I have had 4 children, so my expectations weren't that high in that area.

Decaf. Coffee
I was never told to stay away from coffee. I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk (30 calories per cup). I haven even discussed this with my surgeon and he said it was fine!

BMI INDEX CHART
That is great, so I wanted to look at mine and despite 94 of 111 lbs lost, I am still "overweight" by 3 lbs. I was a little disappointed, but it put me back on track mentally!

Am I starving?
My fitness pal calorie ranges are not for gastric bypass patients, they are for the average dieter. Please enjoy this part of your journey, when you don't need a lot of calories to fill you up. This is where the greatest weight loss happens!
-
2 months post-op
I think statistically the overall weight loss you can expect with gastric by-pass is much higher than that of sleeve patients. Keep moving and drinking water, it will come!

no bread no pasta... wonton wrappers?
I have never heard of not being able to eat bread or pasta. I would think wonton wrappers would fall in this category.
-
When did you start running after surgery?
I was approved also within a couple of weeks of surgery. Just listen to your body, start slow. Good luck
