  2. Thanks everyone these are all great ideas! Gonna buy myself a couple of outfits!
  3. I am so very happy I finally made it out of the 300s this morning a number I never want to see again! But the question now is how to celebrate this milestone? Our culture is so centered on food and drinks to celebrate, but those things got me into the 300s to begin with! So how do you all celebrate these milestones post op?
  4. I too left on liquids want from clear to full when I went to full that's when I had to start measuring. Then while on soft foods they started to have us taper upwards. So over the next 5 weeks I will go up to 1/4 cup by adding a teaspoon in another two weeks and another two weeks after. So I will be 12 weeks post op when I get to 1/4 cup. Then from 12 weeks to 24 weeks aka 6 months I am to advance to 1/2 cup. That repeats again twice till finally at the end of one year I will be at 1 cup and that's where they want us to stop.

  6. Reading through the various topics on this site it occurred to me that there seem to be many different post op diets. People mentioning stages and such. Through my program we were started on 2 tbs per meal and to add a tsp every 12 days or so. I am currently 7 weeks post op and my meal size is 3 tbs and 1 tsp. Are others having similar restrictions? I am to be at 4 tbs aka 1/4 cup by the 3 month mark. I have seen other diets posted where people are going home to 1/4 cup. I wouldn't try to eat that much cause if I go over my 3 tbs and 1 tsp right now I know I'd pay a price. So just curious are others having these tight of restrictions?

  8. You are most welcome they also have this recipe in my post op book but I have not tried it since the papaya has worked so well, its as follows though: 1/2 teaspoon Adolph's unseasoned meat tenderizer, 1 teaspoon lemon juice mixed with 1/2 cup of Water, Mix Well and Sip Slowly.
  9. I was allowed crackers at 4 weeks post op, and I haven't had any trouble with them at all. But I have had food get stuck, and it's not pleasant and I hate to throw up!! My NUT said to take papaya enzyme if food gets stuck, and it works very well, I use the nature maid version you just chew up these four very yummy little pills and shortly after the food moves on through!!!

  12. I had a major meltdown about this just about a week ago. I cried myself to sleep, thinking to myself I will never be able to eat like a real person again. It took a few days to pull out of that funk and I'm doing better now, I am 7 weeks out today, yesterday was my birthday and I didn't really do anything. I am rambling now, but yes this is something I wish I had known prior to surgery!!!Happy Belated Birthday @@nuzzlebear40 Thank you!!!!
