  1. Hey gang!!! Day 5 post-op. I am a little sore and tired from all the traveling I had to do to get home but other than that....I feel GREAT!!! Im down 9 lbs since surgery and have felt like walking 3-5000 steps a day since Friday. Doctor told me to take it easy for the first 2 weeks

That awesome man, I'm also 5 days post-op, I had a little bad spell on Sunday, gas/air, it was pretty rough, but I think it was because I forgot about the "STRAWS". I wasn't thinking about it at the time, I was thirsty and I began to drink some of my wife's smoothie., bad move! Other than that, everything else has been what I expected NO major issues, just on the liquids. Little tied, but I've been through that before, especially because of "food deprivation". I have gone weeks without food, but that was because I was doing continuous combat operations in Iraq! lol Have you checked into any bariatric food links for meals, resources?

ArtDLG.....food is the furtherest thing from my mind right now. In 8 more days I get off the clear liquids and drink protein smoothies and I am gonna hang with that for a while.....there are so many ways that you can dress up a protein shake. Glad you are doing good too my WLS brother!!!!

  2. I am two days post op and everything is going pretty smoothly

    October 30!

I emptied out my fridge and my cabinets so I wouldn't be tempted to eat any food. I have been sipping on broth, crystal light and popsickles all day long.
  6. You can still walk with that boot on your foot........not on a treadmill mind you but at the track or on the sidewalk. I broke my foot 3 yrs while doing cardiac rehab and my trainer/physical therapist took me off the treadmill and put me on the indoor walking track at the facility. Just remember any exercise is better than NO exercise. Be strong and don't get discouraged!!! I know that you can do this!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

    Oct 29th!

alot of popsickles, some different flavored broth, some jello water, and some crystal light....how about you??

    TMI - bowel prep questions...

I took my laxitive about an hour ago and waiting for it to kick in LOL I have gone the last 3 days just drinking Protein shakes and very little food and have been drinking about 1.5 gallons of Water.
  9. That chicken broth is NASTY!!!!!!! NO amount of seasoning can make it taste better!!! I poured it down the drain. I am on a clear liquid test til Wednesday....... A good little secret to satisfying your hunger is to DRINK Jello Water.....any color except red!!
  10. Good thing about being an early worm. I am flying into Tijuana early Wednesday morning. Cathy from Specialized Bariatrics just called me and said that Dr. Osuna has an opening on Wednesday and if I wanted to go ahead and get sleeved on Wednesday instead of Thursday?????? I replied HELL YEAH!!!!! Wednesday will be a long day for me as I leave Tuesday night to go to Dallas then fly to San Diego early Wednesday morning. So now its just a wake up away!!!!

hahaha ever been to jail? Don't answer that. Sounds like something that may have been said there....not that I've ever been....lol. Best wishes to you and GREAT success. Stay connected and keep us posted.

  14. Alot of my friends are ignorant and don't do research before they open their mouths and make some stupid remarks. Mexico is NOT a 3rd world country and they don't do these procedures in an alleyway. I feel very comfortable about having it done in Tijuana. Granted the hospitals are not as big and fancy as the US hospitals but inside.......they are state of the art AND the doctors are NOT greedy......keep costs down and you can do they cheaper!! It would be even cheaper than $4200-5200 IF you did not have to go through an AMERICAN company as the middle man
  15. That is just horrible!!! Actually I hope that losing weight will help me find someone cuz no likes the cute fat boys!!
  16. Less than a week away now.....went and got my cashier's check this morning.......so now I know it's really real and it's going to happen!!!

    Pre-op laxative

Check with your doctor again. I think you are supposed to take one laxitive 3 days prior to surgery before you begin your clear liquid diet. that's what my dr is having me to do. GOOD LUCK!!!!
  19. CONGRATS........that is so awesome and amazing!! I ran a full marathon when I was in the Marine Corps, 32 years ago and my goal is to do a half marathon in the fall of 2015 and a full one in 2016
  20. It is a casein & whey blended product. casein is a phosphoprotein made from mammalian milk. It has 12g of carbs per scoop. most of the people I know that use it are powerlifters and bodybuilders because they need the extra carbs and calories to burn. it has 180 calories per scoop which really isnt THAT bad. If you like the taste of it and it works for you....thats all that matters. I use New Whey liquid Protein which has 42g of protein, 180 calories and it comes in a 3.8 oz bottle and comes in many different flavors. I mix it with flavored sugar free crystal light and sip on it all day. And I use body fortress whey protein that 20 g of protein and 130 calories per scoop. I mix it with a little frozen fruit and almond milk and make a smoothie. Hope this was a little bit of help to you!! GOOD LUCK on your journey!!!

    Mexico Bariatric Center

@cynthiarn2000, my surgery is next thursday in Tijuana, Mexico. I think mexico bariatric center and specialized bariatrics are the same company. I know my co-ordinator works for both of them and they have all the same doctors, use the same hospital, and motel. @ Pinkbunnies, best of luck to you tomorrow and we will definitely be looking forward to reading your update!!

    Exercise

I am curious to know what everyone PRE sleeve is doing for exercise. There's not a lot that I can do that doesn't cause me alot of pain and discomfort. Any suggestions????? just a brief lil history: I've had 1 open heart surgery, 3 back surgeries, broke my foot 3 times in 1 year so they had to put a screw and wire in my foot to keep it from breaking again and 4 knee surgeries( 2 on each knee). HELP!!!!!
  23. Hi Mike...I'm Clay. I have my surgery in 9 days. I am from Bossier City,La. I know you are excited as I know I am!!! I can barely sleep at night!! Are you on Clear liquids from now til your surgery? I am in the middle of my pre-op diet. I can have 2-3 Protein shakes and a salad with not alot of fat free dressing on it. I've lost 11 lbs so far. Where are you having surgery at? I am going to Tijuana and Dr. Osuna is doing mine.
  24. down 2 more lbs.- that's 11 gone on the pre-op diet. 8 days and a wake til "the day"!!!
