Not much to my story.  Turned 50, now divorced and kids are grown.  I can now focus on ME and don't have to worry about accommodating/compromising with family re: meals, etc. I'm retired, so I also don't have the added stress of work.  The time was right for me and I did it.
I began going to support groups months before my surgery and just happened to hear about BariatricPal.  I joined that day. I began living the Bariatric lifestyle/meal plan in June 2014 and had my surgery on 10/20/14.  I got the surgery because I, like most, have spent a lifetime Yo-Yo-ing with weight issues.  The good part about having the surgery is that I'm on my way to a longer/healthier life.  The bad part about the surgery is that I waited 50yrs to get it. I have already benefited from bariatricpal by reading about others' struggles/journey's/successes and plans for the life they were meant to live.  I don't think I've ever had much of a personality, but plan to develop one soon.  When I get there I'll update my story...lol.  To Be Continued...
