  9. Just wanted to say I finally reached 100 pounds lost today! I was sleeved on 10/7/14. Didn't happen by my surgiversary as I hoped but that was definitely due to me. Just happy to finally have hit this goal and now on to the next. Good luck to everyone starting their journey! It's not easy and not fun but it will be so worth it.

  13. I've always been able to get away with wearing the lightest coat in the dead of Winter because I was always too warm. Had to sleep with a fan on at night to try and stay cool. Kept my office as cold as possible with a fan. Now, I wear a sweater in the office, slippers at home, never have the fan on and actually have to zip up my jacket! I'm not quite halfway to my goal weight. I will probably end up walking around clutching a heater by the end but it will still be worth it!

  16. Mokamami - I hope you are doing well. You should be on your regular diet by now, right? I'm still waiting to get to full liquids (and dreaming about Cream of Wheat). I was sleeved on Oct 7th. I work in Hyde Park. Just wanted to wish you well and hope the surgery has been everything you thought it would be. Even with the challenges, I am so grateful I went through it.

  24. Took my last lab test and got my surgery date today....October 7th! So excited for all of us!
  25. Welcome and good luck on your journey!
  26. Good luck, Woozy! Today is your big day. Hope everything goes well.
  27. Hi Forsythia! I'm in NW Indiana and work in the city. Congrats on your weight loss! Hope to be in the same place soon. Cute cat...have three myself.
  28. Hi everyone! So happy to have found this thread. The website overall has been very helpful with information and personal experiences. I am in the process of meeting with all the different specialists for testing. I finished my eight months of nutritional meetings and have met with the surgeon. It's a long process but well worth it. Good luck to all those who are close to their surgery dates! Anyone in the Chicago/Northwest Indiana area? Let's chat.
  29. I'm glad the visit worked out well. My visit was also very good, the staff was so friendly and the doctor was very informative and kind. I'm hoping I will be done with all the testing by the end of next month so I can get a surgery date. Sounds like you will have plenty of time to practice new eating techniques, be able to give up soda and coffee (if you drink it) and just generally prepare yourself for surgery. Keep pushing!
  30. I wish you the best of luck with your visit. I hope everything went well. We are at a similar point. I researched as much as I could before making the decision. I have my first visit with the surgeon on June 20, 2014. I've finished my eight classes required by my insurance and I have my referral so this is the start of the next leg. I'm very excited to take the next step.
