  1. I was banded on Monday 11/26 and my port site was very red and hot to the touch. The doctor said it was an infection and started me on liquid 875 augmentem. I have to go back on Monday for them to check it again. I'm scared, they said if the infection gets worse they will remove the band.
  2. HELP>>> How long does gas pain last? I can't seem to sleep for more than 30 minutes at a time. I keep waking up uncomfortable. I walk my halls at night, the gas is coming out but I still feel like i'm full of gas. I had my surgery Monday 11/26.:help::help:
  3. Everything went well with my surgery, i'm just struggling because 'm very hungry and the broth is cutting it. I understand not everyone feels hungry but I'm hoping the doctor will let me eat farina. Good luck with your procedure tomorrow, you will do great.
  4. I can have liquids, it doesn't have to be clear. I guess i'm so overwelmed right now - I can't think of what to eat. I also don't know if what I feel is hunger pain or heart burn (i'm getting alot of that too)
  5. The surgery was a breeze. I was nervous at first too but then the nurses were talking to me and explaining that I was 1 of 5 patients who were receiving the band on Monday. I also had my galdbladder out 10 years ago and my doctor said the lap band was easier then that...
  6. My doctor didn't require a pre-liquid diet. almost wish he had... I ate very light my last day and enjoyed a salad. I'm just confused now because I wasn't expecting to be this hungry. Good luck with your surgery on Friday.
  7. I was banded on Monday and today i'm so hungry. What can I eat. I've had clear broth and pudding... can someone please post a list of foods acceptable for the first week??? When can I eat Farina?:help: Thanks
  8. Well I did it, thought I would chicken out for a minute there. I had my Surgery on Monday and today watched the Oprah show and felt like a cheater. I guess now I have to deal with the head issues. Any advice is appreciated?
  9. Tomorrow is my surgery day, the day I have been waiting for. I am so nervous. I just finished packing a small bag and explaining the procedure to my kids (who are all very excited - I guess they are embarassed of me too)... This is so scary for me, right up there with flying in an airplane. I can't even put my finger on what is really scaring me. My health will be worse if I don't do this? well, here I go... :faint:
  10. I have to say, having support from all of you is wonderful. I'm so glad that I found out about this powerful, supportive site. Right now i'm nervous about the surgery part and i'm sure after that i'll find something else to be nervous about. My primary care doctor told me not to be nervous about surgery but to be nervous about what will happen to me if I don't do the surgery. UGH... It's so hard to think these days and I know she is right. Thank you all so much.
  11. :help:I am freakin out today, my surgery is Monday. I don't know what's going on? I'm scared, excited, nervous.... any words of wisdom. The entire process from going to the hospital to having the surgery and after is terrifying me. I want to feel good so bad and every other second i'm having a panic attack. Is it normal to feel this way?
  12. I'm having my surgery on 11/26 and am very nervous about how I will feel after surgery. I'm not sure what to expect.
  13. Hi, I'm new to this site too and my band is scheduled for 11/26. I am excited and nervous too. Giving up soda was easier than I thought, I kept plenty of very cold water bottles on hand and always have one near me. I'm wondering how giving up my bad choice of foods is going to work. I'm also nervous about throwing up after surgery.
