  1. I hope all is going well with you since your banding. I live 4 hours away from Bend, so I was looking for some online support from others who have been banded in Bend. Best wishes.
  2. I just had my second fill last week and ever since, it feels like I have something stuck at the back of my throat. I have not eaten a normal meal since my fill. Whenever I try to eat anything other than Protein shakes and liquids, I throw up (Not fun). Anyway, should I get with my doctor to get an unfill or is there something else wrong?:smile2: Any advise would be greatly appreciated. My doctor is a 4 hour drive away, so I am a bit concerned. Thanks all!
  3. I had my first fill on 1/3/2008 (2cc's) and I have not been able to eat anything that I was eating before. I am back to protein shakes and not much else. I can eat jello and pudding, but nothing else. Has anyone else experienced this also?? I am really tired and feel kind of "out of it". But I am forcing myself to drink the shake because I am not hungry at all, but I need the protein. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.:sick
  4. I recently had my surgery (Nov. 29th) and I took a full week off of work. Just remember, everyone is different. I healed quite quickly and could have gone back a few days earlier, but I had a one week post-op appointment and it is a 4 hour drive for me to get to my surgeons office, so I just took the entire week.
  5. Since my pre-op appointment (which was November 19th) until my one-week post op appointment (which was December 6, 2007), I have lost 14 pounds. My 3 week post op appointment is this upcoming Thursday (December 20th)...I will keep you posted.
  6. Thank you...I will look into those!
  7. Has anyone had their surgery in Bend Oregon? Dr. Koning did my procedure and it has been great. Bend Oregon has a great hospital and the staff was great!:clap2:
  8. I am with Advanced Speciality Care in Bend oregon and I can say that they are AWESOME. I had my initial appointment on October 29, 2007 and was banded on November 129, 2007. They are on the web at: Advanced Specialty Care in Bend, Oregon Let me know if you need any additional information.
  9. Hello. I was banded on 11/29. I took a week off of work afterward. I was tired, but it is a 5 hour drive to the city where I was banded and I had a follow-up appointment one week after surgery, sooooooo, two days of that time off were driving back and forth to Bend. Anyway, I have been back to work for a week now. I get tired very easily and do not have a lot of energy once I get home, but I keep reminding myself to take it one day at a time. :scared: My incision site is still tender and I keep bumping it on my desk. (OUCH!!) I started pureed foods a couple of days ago and that made a big difference. I could use some ideas on pureed foods that are good sources of protein. I am still on my "formula" everyday, but I would like some good, tasty ideas for protein that are pureed. :bandit Also, how do you all get those cool little tickers on the bottom of your postings? What a neat way to chart your progress!!!!! THanks for your help!!
  10. Hello. This website is a godsend!!! I get so much support and assistance every time that I visit. I am 2 weeks post op and my incision site is still sore. I have a desk job and I keep hitting by incision on my desk. Is this normal??? :scared:
  11. I was recently banded on 11/29. I was oddly calm before surgery. I was more nervous about making sure that I ate correctly and kept myself nurished. I have to be honest, it is easier than having a baby. I walked soon after surgery and that REALLY helped. I did not experience any shoulder pain because I was up and walking. When I was not up and walking, I was sleeping. The surgeons that do this are AWESOME. Listen to your doctor and it will go very smoothly.

  13. I am preparing to be banded next Thursday the 29th. A little nervous...not about the decision, mostly about keeping myself fed afterward and what I should be stocking up on at home. Best wishes to you!!!!
  14. I too have a November surgery date. I am nervous.....but I want to live my life and not watch from the sidelines. My surgery is scheduled for 11/29 in Bend, Oregon.
