jenbaby75 got a reaction from JamieLogical in My husband is not attracted to me - 2 weeks post-op
Oh, and my husband has had sex with me when I was in shape, pregnant, with a boot on my leg after ankle surgery, on my ugliest days, and a day preop.

jenbaby75 got a reaction from Vad1988 in Submitted my claim to insurance and now I'm rethinking this whole thing...
The beginning is tough, there is a learning curve for sure. But I know some people over a year out, and they can eat whatever they want, just not in large quantities. You do not have to be a stick figure when you are done, you control that. I am approaching week 2 post op. I have had zero complications. No nausea, or vomitting. I am not hungry. It is tough getting all the fluids in. But, I know it will get better. I already feel healthier.
If you aren't ready, you aren't ready. Plain and simple. My suggestion would be to do it, based on the health issues that are headed your way. But, you gotta be ready. I wish you the best!

Are you hungry, or just rumbley in your tummy? The rumbley may be acid, or your tummy just talking back. 10 days out and I still don't feel hunger, but I do get a gurgley sensation before I take my omeprazole. On day 2, I had to make an effort to drink my shakes and Water.< /p>

jenbaby75 got a reaction from RedSalamander in Need help with my preop shopping list
I bought flavored drops for Water, and multiple Protein powders. Unjury-Chicken Soup (tastes like top ramen broth), chocolate, and unflavored. I have used all but unflavored. I have BA banana. Isopure zero carb grape frost, I do 1/2 a bottle a day mixed with Powerade zero or crystal light. I have Syntrax Cappuccino and Cookies n cream powders, and Black Tea Lemon Isopure (waaay better than grape) on the way. I haven't had any weird taste issues. I alternate all of them.

I am only 10 days post op. I honestly can hardly tell I had surgery. If it wasn't for incisions, zero hunger, irregular poop, and eating/drinking taking more time, I wouldn't know I had it. zero complications, I feel amazing. I have been a bit more emotional than normal the past 2 days. I have no regrets, aside from not doing this 10 years ago.

I called insuance, every 2 days to ask if it had been received, and then if it was approved. Then, called the surgeon's ins coordinator to let them know to look for it. I have no patience, and didn't want to slip through the cracks.

Battling hunger, head or otherwise, is no joke. Why be critical of someone struggling? We are all here because we have, or have had issues with food. OP, don't give up, and don't beat yourself up, just pick yourself up, and keep trying. You will get there.

I 100% applaud, and have so much respect for people that can follow a diet 100% to the letter, and not give in to temptation. I mean that. I wish I was that strong. I am having this surgery to help me with control, as a tool.
I think we all get a little defensive when we feel like we are being judged by others that obviously had similar issues at one time. It can feel like you don't remember or understand the struggle.
I have cheated on my pre-op, I do not feel ill prepared. I have spent an incredible amount of time watching you tube, reading, talking with people that have had it done. It has comsumed my life for a year.
While I plan on following a low carb, high Protein diet after being sleeved, I refuse to deprive myself. My NUT also suggests not depriving yourself. Everything in moderation.
I am very sorry if I offended anyone on this thread.

I wish I was perfect, but sadly, I am not. I have cheated on my pre-op. I have a pretty hectic life..kids, babies are sometimes unpredictable, sometimes I find myself in situations where I haven't eaten enough due to being out running kid/family errands. What happens then, is that I am starving in the evening. I do my best to go with Protein, but sometimes, I slip up. I imagine it will happen post op too. I have myself set up for success, but life happens, I refuse to fall apart, or call myself, or anyone else, a failure for being human. The best we can do is pick ourselves up, and try again. This is not an easy fix, and I am sure as shit not giving up because I slipped up.

I suggest watching you tube vids. There are some great people who documented their journeys. Vsg kirk is amazing.
Know that most people who do what they are supposed to, won't have issues. The more research you do, the better equipped you will be. I would tell anyone to RUN and get this done. It's a great tool to get your life back, to be fit, and enjoy life.

The only real pain I have felt is in the largest incision, as it is stitched to the muscle. There was some gas pain for a few days. Burp, a lot, fart if you can. I had an amazing surgical team. I have had no nausea, vomitting, I have no issues drinking Water or Protein drinks/shakes. Not once have I regretted my decision to have this surgery. I suggest following your doctors instructions to the letter. I am a natural rule breaker, a pusher of the limits..but not with this. I want Little Sleevie Wonder to heal and be happy! You will heal faster, and feel better if you do as you are told. Provided you went to a reputable surgeon, they know what they are doing. Take time to rest, get your protein and fluids in. Make your Proteins and fluids the same thing. Take your pain meds, your antacids. You will thank yourself later.

jenbaby75 got a reaction from Queenfreak in Ah! Penny! Why?!?!?(My 600 lb life)
I think it takes a special kind of person to end up 600+ pounds. I see a very similar trend with those that do this..absolute control, of their environment, people, etc. if they stay the way they are, people with cater to them, and they can be a victim. I am not saying that is true 100% of the time, but it is true much of the time. In fact, ALL of the obese people I know, have serious anxiety and control issues, in other words, when they feel out of control, they have major anxiety. Shame on her for not accepting the help she was given, shame on her husband for not helping her, so she can actually live a long, healthy life. The rest of us have to work hard, and pay for our things.

jenbaby75 got a reaction from az2590 in Getting Water In Tips Needed
I make sure my fluids count! I use Isopure, mixed with Crystal Light, or Powerade Zero. 10oz Isopure=20g Protein, and 10oz fluid..add the powerade/crystal light, and I am getting 20 oz Fluid, and 20 g protein. I also flavor some of my Water, I have found that I really like Powerade Zero drops. They taste good. Crystal Light is good too. Just keep sipping all day long. You can do it. I am on day 5, and I just make sure I have fluids, or a Protein Drink, sometimes both, with me at all times.

I should have added, not being prepared when out running around is my fault. My obesity, while having a genetic component..is also my fault. I take full responsibility for my behavior, and actions. My point is, we are all human, and do make mistakess
