I have a question tho.. whats the link between the shoulder pain and the lapband?? and I have heard so many things from slight pain to UNBEARABLE! YIKES! whats up with that?? ~Destynee~
  2. Hi! did you lose that 28 lbs AFTER surgery?
  3. Thanks everyone.. I too have a desk job BUT my commute to work is about an hour and 15..sooo...
  4. Hello Everyone.. I am sched for Surgery March 7th! yeaaah I was wondering how long the "general" recovery time was for everyone. I am having the surgery on Friday and was wondering if it was unrealistic to expect to be at work on Monday?? ~Destynee~
  5. Please let us know how it all goes!! I will say a prayer for you!!
  6. Hello everyone.. I just got my surgery date...March 7th.. I am soooo nervous/excited. Finally after 6 months of waiting!! I wanted to know, and I realize this is premature. but how long before you actually see the weight loss?? any advise pre-op? thanks!!! ~Destyne~:cursing:
  7. WoW I never thought about that! I had Kaiser for 18 years...I work for AT&T and I just switched to UHC ChoicePluse JUST to have the surgery! I hope that there is no time requirement of having the insurance b4 I can apply!! That would suck now since my doctor just submitted for the surgery yesterday!!
  8. Hi Ed... I USED to have Kaiser I just recently (Sept) switch to UHC because the Kaiser process was WAY too long for me. I DO have a co-worker/close friend who has Kaiser and is going thru all the steps! I will gladly ref, her to your post and she may be able to help answer questions!!
  9. OOH Please let me know if it gets approved..thats what the nurse told me "if your bmi is 40 or above its a done deal! no questions asked"
  10. Call and talk to someone else!! I was told by the insurance nurse at the doctors office that UHC is one of the easiest to get approval from..
  11. Hi there! I just went thru a similar situation! I actually was able to switch prior to OPEN ENROLLEMENT. I left Kaiser after 17yrs! I simply had to request my medical records be sent to my NEW provider which is UHC choice plus.. That may be all you have to do if you choose to wait till your "new" insurance kicks in.. hope that helps
  12. Wow! I have UHC too and I was told that they are the "easiest" to approve!! I have also had weight issues for at least 5 years but never got to a BMI which was high enough to qualify for surgery! The nurse in charge of submitting the request for approval told me that if my BMI changed to come back in. I am guessing that was her way of saying gain some, SO now I am 10lbs from a 40 BMI sched, for my Psyc eval. on the 19th!! that would suck to do all this and have them say No because I "SUDDENLY" shot up to a 40BMI! Please let me know what happens!
  13. oOOH a LOCAL girl!! so how ya doing now?
  14. OOOH let us know how it goes! (went)!
  15. Hello everyone! I am new too! I have already attended the seminar and been to my first consult! I am in the process of setting up my Psych eval. Unfortunalty I also have about 8lbs to gain in order to qualify for the surgery. Sad but true! Anyone in the same boat? my BMI is almost 38 so in order for my insurance to approve it...and I am told my insurance is one of the EASIEST...I have to be at a 40 BMI! I am 5'7 and TODAY I weigh 238.8lbs! (well at my consult the nurse said I was only 5'6? maybe trying to help?) anyway can't wait to start sharing info!!:help:
  16. Hi! what do you mean "pre diet" was that required?
