Hello Lap Band world, Since I don't know any of you I feel comfortable in explaining my decision and expressing the nervousness I have. I am a big guy like a football player, however I am not excessly large. My BMI is only 35.3 and going up. I am 42 years old. Of course I know what to do to loose weight and have tried hundreds of diets, but it all seems to come back after 6 months. My problem is that I am not large enough for my insurance company to cover the expenses, besides I am tired of waiting and want this done now. So tomorrow I am on my way to Mexico. I have saved the money and I am doing it. Now I have not told my mother or father as both of them would either worry or suggest as many others that I don't need to do this. Matter of fact, I told my wife but she does not know I am going down to Mexico. She only believes I am going to San Diego. My wife is a nice slim lady, so although she is supportive she does not understand how being overweight affects your life. I am nervous and scared, but better to fix this now rather than deal with the humilation and other health side effects. So wish me luck and offer many prayers. This is the first time that I will go under the knife.
