KohakuSueda got a reaction from FluffyChix in Anyone with PCOS not lose weight after surgery
Hey! I have pcos and tbh my weight loss a month out has been very very slow. I lost a lot during the liquid diet but not too much after. Told once I get in the gym it’ll be better. Hope that helps

KohakuSueda got a reaction from foodie669 in Is there anything you wish you knew before surgery?
How bad the gas pains would hurt. I thought the surgery would be a breeze but the pain I was in was really bad

What was the first pureed meal you ate?

KohakuSueda reacted to S@ssen@ch in Nausea/vomiting & just feeling ill
Most of your symptoms sound like dehydration to me. 10 oz of fluid/day is not enough. Once you get into this level of dehydration, you feel like you're terribly sick and have no desire to eat or drink (which seems counterintuitive considering you're dehydrated).
Unless you want another visit to the ER for fluids, you're going to have to force yourself to drink more fluids.

KohakuSueda got a reaction from GreenTealael in 80g of protien?
I’m a week post op and my plans wants 80g A day of Protein full liquids. Had anyone been able to do this? I feel like Water is so much easier to drink than the Protein Shakes because they are so filling and I’m getting a little over 40g instead of 80.

KohakuSueda reacted to jennj in Starting purées/soft food
So I have started purées/soft foods. Here’s my problem. I can barely eat 3 oz. Will this improve? I get SO full I can’t drink anything for over an hour. I’m in this struggle of trying to drink enough and trying to eat some Protein. Im so OVER Protein Shakes, I can only handle one a day. Im just wondering if feeling this so completely full after not even 3 oz. is normal. Thank you!

I really think a lot of the initial feelings of regret is hormonal. Though my hospital stay was hellish due to uncontrollable chronic pain and that I was bed bound. My one attempt to walk at the nurses insistence I could only make a few steps out to the hall before My body said no way and set off every nerve in my body like raw nerves and I was an emotional wreck. I hated anyone seeing me that way since I usually hide it. It will feel dark, sad and angry but your body has gone through a lot so give it time and try to think about how much it will help you. For me it sometimes feels like a punishment, and why can’t I just eat like a normal human being. But it was RNY or give up. I had run out of tools to fight my weight.
Thankfully you can find support here and I hope the dark clouds lift for you soon.

Aww lovely, it is crap huh We ALL promise it gets better!
Honestly, at one point, my pain was so bad (complications from surgery, not yet known at that point) I had a fleeting thought that if the pain didn't stop, I was going to throw myself out the window!! Bit dramatic I know but hell, it was bad at the time.
I was in agony for 2 weeks, regretted everything. Then kept thinking holy sheets I can't even get them to reverse it
BUT I promise it gets easier.
You have had surgery, and anaesthetic can make some of us feel very down in the dumps and hormones going haywire from the sudden change of food amounts etc has a huge impact on how we are feeling.
Do you normally take antidepressants? I missed mine whilst in hospital, so that absolutely doesn't help with how we are feeling even missing just 2 days can impact your mood.
Anyway, my long-winded point is really just the same as previous replies, the first few days can be awful but it really does improve.
Hang in there, nothing lasts forever and you will get through this xx

My depressions horrible. The surgery was more pain then I ever imagined and thanks to complications I was hospitalized for 4 days instead of two. I feel like I can’t drink enough to hit 80 grams of Protein, My depressions a mess, and I have no support system. My family could care less about me. I regret this surgery due to all the pain I’m in and I feel like a failure. Anyone relate? 😓😓😓

KohakuSueda got a reaction from Frustr8 in I can’t date overweight people
The problem is that there are also average sized and thin people who live unhealthy lifestyles. Instead of focusing on weight maybe just say your looking for someone who lives an active lifestyle similar to your own. Also, if anyone’s able to throw you off that easily, I’d focus more inwardly on your own goals and self strength before investing your time and energy into another person. Isn’t worth losing yourself to be in a relationship. Hope that makes sense

HI KohakuSeuda,
There’s actually a warning statement on the bottom of my pre-op diet sheet that says dizziness is common during the diet . Because the shakes are so low in sugar, it’s just enough to keep us above hypoglycemia. I’m on Day 2 of full liquids. Last week I had a meal and 2 shakes. Now, 5 shakes plus Water like you.
I will say from my memory when I had my lap band, day 3 is the worst. For many it gets a little better.
Since sugar free Jello is considered a clear 0 cal liquid, I’ve added those as well, just to feel the little bit of weight in my tummy. It seems to help with the hunger.
Best of luck!
