Davinci Robot
It is amazing. If you google Davinci Robot images, you will see how the physician sits while it uses this thing. They say it is the closest thing to human hands. And using this is less invasive and less chances for bacteria or mistakes. The hospital I went to is the only one that has it down in SFL. I didn't know until a few days before the surgery. It freaked me out a little, but no regrets. I have 5 incisions in my tummy and when they heal, it won't be noticible.

Has weight loss/surgery turned me crazy?
@@kenb79 Oh you have no idea the emotional rollercoaster this can do. But it is all for the better, keep telling yourself that. It all has to do with the change, the shock, the irritation with food, the anticipation, stress, etc, blah blah blah. Think of it as PMS only with food.

International Travel After Surgery
I am no expert, as I am only 16 days post. However, I can tell you that if your surgery goes as planned (the norm) then by the 3rd week you should have no pain. This is my 3rd week and I don't have pain. My incisions feel a little discomfort at times because of the stiches still healing. Nothing big to worry about. Energy? Well, if you are like me that the space in my stomach is only 1 -2 ounces, calorie intake will be a concern which leads to energy or lack there of. (I can only shove 400 calories a day right now) So my advise if you chose to do these trips, LOTS of Protein shakes and LOTS of high Protein Bars with you at all times. The protein helps you from becoming weak. Always hydrate. When you are not drinking your Protein shake, make sure you are drinking Water. Mind you, drinking the protein shake will take a good hour or so. Remember the size of the tummy and the liquid that is incoming. I am sure more experienced people will chime in and you can gather all the info and make a decision at that time.

Help! Everything makes me sick!
@@Browneyedgirl818 - My Twin! Where have you been! lol I am at 3 weeks post op and I know exactly how you feel. I can't take another Protein shake and chicken broth for the life of me. I am on the pureed stage which means NOTHING, because everything in a blender grosses me out apparently. I have my first follow up with my surgeon tomorrow. I am going to ask him what's up with all this nonsense of mine? Plus I can barely make it to 400 calories a day. Nevermind the 64oz of Water. So far, this is what I have discovered: cheese on eggs gross me out (for now) My new tummy doesn't care for ham Cottage Cheese is okay, if I put honey on it. Still I can only eat about 1 tablespoon of it. Desperate attempt to blenderize mac and cheese and that was a HUGE mistake. lol Swallowed one crouton thinking, no harm- no foul, HAHAHA, yeah right. Crouton was stuck for a long while. Shrimp taste funny to me. (I hope that changes) Home made mash potatoes (i made for dinner for my loved one and I tasted a pinch of it) tastes nasty to me. I baked cupcakes for my BF job and I don't care for the smell of batter and icing is nasty Deviled Ham is cat food Shredded buffalo chicken (deli meat) gives me heartburn Quest Bar- Apple pie is awesome (having for dinner right now) I was only able to eat 1 oz of baked tilapia before it got stuck going down. Decaf coffee is okay Premier Protein chocolate shake is nasty to me because of the thickness. I discovered I prefer 1 % milk over 2% milk Lipton Black Iced tea sugar free has been my savior Lifesavers has also saved me a few time from low sugar Greek yogurt is NOT my thing. ugh. Diabetic Dannon light yogurt is okay Refried Beans is not my thing Popsicles- cherry only I can go on, but can you tell my desperate attempts in the kitchen? I know when I am able to eat solids, it will be much better. But for right now, dog biscuits look tempting. lol So I understand you completely.

@@Rogofulm No need to apologize, it is worth repeating! When one is new and is struggling to see the numbers go down, we want to hear from the experts out there. The ones that have been through it. Sure, I can do a search in the forums, but it is nice to get responses from fresh new people, not stale conversations from a year ago. Thank you so much, I will check it out! xoxo

Post Surgery-Weight Stall- WTH?
@@wilbskinny Thank you for that info.....any information helps. I have been struggling to meet 400 calories. Nevermind making it to 800 calories. As soon as I can swallow real food, I hope to meet that goal. However right now, I can barely fit anything. The most is 2 ounces. If I am not drinking a Protein shake or Soup, I am drinking diet tea or Water. There is always something going in and filling that space in my stomach. I am going to ask the surgeon tomorrow when can I expect to eat a little more, have a little more space in there.......I want to meet the 800 calories. Believe me, I wish I can have a real meal in a minute!

Question for all you Catholic Sleevers
I grew up Catholic, but find myself to be more of a free spirited /Baptist person now. Anywho, please don't be offended with what I am going to say, I mean well in every which way. But being that I am 16 days post op and have had my struggles....your taste buds may change to the point that the smell or taste of something will make you sick to your stomach. Wine? when your stomach is still swollen, raw and healing? I don't know about that, sounds dangerous. I love God in every way and have complete trust and faith in him. I want to say that, due to your surgery, maybe you should skip the communion wafer /wine action for a few weeks and still attend church. I am sure in no way will God frown upon you. After all, you are looking out for your health to continue to serve him in this world. xoxo

Post Surgery-Weight Stall- WTH?
Thank you Bill. It is okay, I need the broken record. It was discouraging for a nano second there. I was one day 238, next day 239.5 I was flipping out. I was like WTH? I eat like a squirrel and sip Water all day long like a stinking hamster off of those water bottles...(picture that) and I gain a pound? I know we fluctuate daily. I get that. But you know how it is, when you are so anxious to see the scale go down, and then you see the needle go the other way....kinda makes your hair stand up. Let's see what the ol surg has to say tomorrow.

Post Surgery-Weight Stall- WTH?
Hello there, It has been a while since my last question as I have been dealing with my ups and downs on post surgery and my struggles with what the heck to eat that doesn't look like vomit that took a spin in a blender. UGH. I am 16 days post op. I can take liquids down just not as fast. Still struggling to hydrate and reach up to 64oz of Water (impossible right now) and still feeling my way around food but cannot eat solids yet. Still drinking the Protein shakes which I am so over about. I have lost 15 pounds since my surgery. Weight from surgery is 253 and I am at 238 this morning. However, I have been 238 for a few days now. No changes. Apparently, there is some kind of stall going on. Not sure why, since I barely make it to 400 calories a day! Anyone has insight on why the sudden weight loss stall? Obviously I am not over eating if I can barely make it to 400 calories, I am hydrating as much as I can, and I do my walks every day. At least 30 mins. Sleeve veterans, please...do you know why? I have my follow up with my surgeon tomorrow 1st time since the surgery.
