I live in Alabama also. I had my surgery done by Dr. Rumbaut. I have no regrets at all. I fly to chicago to get my fills done. It cost me 142.00 round trip. Dr. Horgan in chicago is very generousy with his fills. I have lost 49lbs in 4 months.
  8. I am the exact same way. I can't eat anything in the morning, by lunch I can eat 1/2 to 1 cup of food. Dinner I eat about a cup. After 9:00 pm I can eat anything and way to much, and just don't seem to get full.
  9. Yes Bruce i had a low BMI also, Everyone thought I was crazy also for wanting to have the surgery. But I didn't care what everyone else thought. I just new I was miserable and did not want to be fat the rest of my life. I was 200lbs and 5"4. I didn't have a problem finding Doctors willing to perform the surgery since I was self pay. I found one in Birmingham Alabama. I decided on Dr. Rumbaut because he had so much more experience than the ones in the United States. If I can be of in help please let me know.
  10. You have done a great job. I also want to know your secret. Did you exercise, count calaries, what?
  11. That is great news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I also love the yard sales. I have went from a 16 to 8. Jeans are my favorite thing to wear. I keep a pair that is to small as my goal. When they fit I buy the next size down and hang them on bedroom door as my goal.
  13. If your trying to get insurance to cover the surgery, I don't think you will have much luck with your BMI. If you're willing to pay for it yourself I think most Dr. will do the surgery with your BMI.
  14. 1. What does your handle mean? My name is Vickie but I like Nickie better. 2. What book are you currently reading, or did you last read? Over-indulged children 3. What do you do for a living? Own a towing service and a small car lot. 4. For what in your life are you most grateful? My family 5. What's one thing about you that you think would surprise other people? That I know more about cars than most men do 6. One word to describe yourself? Survivor 7. One word others use to describe you? Worry-Wart 8. Would you rather play a game with someone better or worse at it than you? Worse, because If I'm playing a game that means I'm at the Casnio, and I sure want to win money not lose it. 9. Favorite movie? Favorite show? The longest yard, Las Vegas 10. Something unusual about yourself? I know more about cars than most men.
  15. Great job Brad, keep it up.
  16. Well I had surgery over three months ago. Everyday since surgery I've been telling my self to go join a gym, and start exercising. I did it today. I joined the gym. Now I just have to make myself go and exercise
  17. I'm three months out with my band, I've only had to PB's but they were not what you call throw-up. It was more like foam coming out of your mouth that you couldn't stop. Once was on cheese won ton, and chicken dressing. I hope I don't have anymore.
  18. I have been hypo for the past 10 years. Before I got my band i was on 2.25 sythroid, now I am down to 1.75 sythroid now. So I think the weight loss has helped with my thyroid problem.
  19. I'm three months out with my band also. I would do it again in a heart beat. I have lost 42lbs. I think these last 29lbs are going to be hard thou.
  20. I'm only three months out and done had 2 fills. I would sure think about getting another fill if I were you.
  21. Hi, Welcome to bandland. The one thing that I would suggest is to get assisstance at the airport. You can call ahead and explain that you will be having surgery, and they will have a wheel chair for you and some will push you to the gates to catch your flight. I flew from Atlanta, had to change planes in houston. That is a lot of walking to do right after surgery. Good luck, if you have any more question please ask.
  22. I've only had one PB and it was with a cheese won ton.
