BellaLuce4 got a reaction from habee in Not having support from partner
Boy, you came to the right group to ask that question and get honest answers. Lol
I'm married 28 yrs n it's been 1 heck of a roller coaster! I know my partner sometimes better than myself, so I choose not to tell him anything until I was approved and in my 2 week pre op liquid diet.
Sad, yes, but necessary because when you live with passive aggressive or insecure partners, you have to be your own advocate.
(you must read the thread, "I want to throat punch my husband" just substitute husband for partner n you will see it not so uncommon. ) I already know there r issues there.
I agree with everyone, you need to do what is right for you when it is right for you. In the meantime, be strong in yourself and your decision to take care of yourself and let your partner know that up front. A week ago my husband was buying eggplant parm heroes for dinner for me while I'm on pre op liquid diet and not being supportive at all, questioning my decision and not agreeing with it...n last night he laid in bed with me and read through my entire folder and helped me put together a shopping list for my post op 4 weeks. Give her time to adjust and you just keep holding firm, she might just surprise you!
If not, you have a wealth of support here with people that know u r doing the right thing ????
    Good luck????

I was sleeved 2 days before you and my starting weight was 249 , CW 196. I just got out of a 4 week stall, it was very frustrating. Especially when we are not even 12 weeks post op. Stick with it, keep tracking and stay the course. My stall finally ended and I dropped 10 lbs in 9 days. It will happen to you too????

Hope you are recovering well! It sounds painful. I have been in pain with RA flare ups since surgery. I have just gone to bed early most nights to take the pressure off my joints. Ice, heat, Tylenol and sleep are my new best friends!

I just bought a pair of size 27 Miss Me jeans! For those of you who were like me & didn't know about Miss Me jeans, that is nowhere near the same as my old size 22 Lane Bryant jeans!

The ablility to really feel the hugs from my family. I mean, I can wrap my arms around them. The ability to go from the basement to the second floor without falling out. The ability to bend without pain and to get off the floor without any assistance. I get up at 430 am now to work out and stay up until 9 pm. I have so much energy now, it's amazing. I went grocery shopping the other morning around 8. I was in there for like 2 hours and then came home to put the food away. I was on my feet until 12 and I was not in pain. I was still runnng around the house doing stuff. Before surgery I could not stand longer than 30 minutes without being in pain. If the scale does not move, I will not fret. These non scale victories are awesome and I am able to enjoy my life.
I can also fit some XL shirts now, YES!

I just realized my feet and knees haven't hurt at the end of the day since I got out of the hospital, and the edema I was getting in my legs is almost gone - I only notice a bit at the end of the day, and that seems normal.
Oh, and in 3 weeks, I've lost an inch and a half off of my NECK. How crazy is that?

Christmas shopping in Buckle last night. The sales girl wanted to help me. She asked if I needed a M or a S top! I almost died!! And both sizes fit!

Every little victory is awesome but I really, honestly, (swear to God HONESTLY) get sick of the shock and awe. Just be happy for me, say I look nice and MOVE ON! It's more about how I feel than how I look (most days anyway). On a side note.... NSV of the day: wearing a pair of trouser pants to work that I knew were lose but having to use some stockingnet (I work in medical field - this is the sleeve that goes under a cast) to rig up a belt because my pants were literally falling down. About to say goodbye to size 16 I hope!

    NSV in my 6th month..
Went to an appointment today. The receptionist has not seen me since I had surgery. (105 pounds ago) She was flat out shocked. She asked me if I stopped eating. I disclosed that I had sleeve surgery. She told me that I had better results than people she had seen on the biggest looser. Funny...she said I looked hot and grabbed my thigh..Humm how the hell do I take that.
I have a hard time seeing what other people see when they look at me. I'm always taken back by responses that I get from people that knew me as morbidly obese.
    What a hilarious day

Ohhhh NSV= Non scale Victory. I had totally been wondering what that meant!!
I had been brainstorming for a few months:
    -'Nuther Small Victory
    -New Stellar Victory
    -No Small Victory
    -New Sleeve Victory
-Not Safe for Vooork (with russian accent)
It all makes so much sense, now.
    Thanks!!!!

    Hi!
Today is my 5th month surgiversary so I wish to share my progress with you all on this site, as you are my support and inpirations in the past 7 months (since pre-op).
I'm now so happy that my weight is under 70 kg (154 lbs) which as I barely remember when I was this light.. probably 10 years ago!
My surgeon required me to lose 43 lbs more so it's still a long way to go.
Thank you for your kind support and tips you all posted on this site which have helped me a lot through this journey.

I am half way there nearly!
Feeling good, should be eating a lot more but just can't stomach more than 3 mouthfuls.
So I am hoping that improves..
    Hope everyone is well
