  1. Nothing to be afraid of in posting here. Just jump on in! You're doing great with your weight loss. Congrats!
  2. Yes, it's quite the journey, isn't it? When you're immersed in it, it can feel a bit overwhelming. But I can promise you that some day soon you'll look back on all this and it'll feel like nothing in the grand scheme of things. Before you know it you'll be on the other side, and I can assure you that great things are awaiting you here! Good luck!
  3. Sorry to hear about the set back with your husband's health. Hope he feels better soon. I am a big dog lover, have two of my own. They're very receptive to change, and are probably sensing and reacting to what's going on around them. Plus they just plain miss you guys. They'll just need some extra loving when things settle down a bit. Good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery!
  4. You're getting a great start all around. Congrats!
  5. Sorry to hear you've been having such a tough time. I hope you get to increase your food choices soon, without the vomiting. Hang in there. Sometimes it just takes extra time. Congrats on your weight loss though!
  6. I went to a Kaiser ER for a bug bite that had turned into an abscess that had to be drained. I got a letter awhile later asking if I was planning to seek legal action. Against who? The bug? It was from a third party company and at first I thought it was a scam and was going to ignore it. But in doing research I discovered that it's something many insurance companies are pursuing these days. It's called health care subrogation. They're looking to take a portion of any proceeds you might receive from an accident when you later sue someone else for liability related to the injury you had treated.
  7. You're really looking svelte there! Congrats!
  8. Your year sounds like a joyful journey. And you look beautiful to boot! Congrats!
  9. I really hope it goes your way. Hang in there!
  10. 1) Never once had a second thought. I waited a year, and surgery day couldn't come fast enough. No regrets. 2) I decided from the start that I would only tell a select few. My family and a couple of friends. I have no regrets on this issue either, but then I'm a very private person. There is no right or wrong answer on this. I've lost a vast amount of weight over the years, and of course, gained it back. So I don't think it's too shocking to see me do it again. The shock will factor in as I keep it off long term. ???? There was no keeping secret that I was having a lot of medical issues and pain leading up to my surgery. A lot of them have cleared up since surgery, and people are happy for me. I didn't specify type of surgery, nor was I required to. People at work have respected that decision so far and not pried further. I've received a lot of compliments on my weight loss so far, but I never specify the amount lost. I only answer by saying I was having health issues that I couldn't ignore.
  11. Those fears are common, but keep good thoughts. I came through with flying colors and so will you. Congrats!
  12. Couldn't hurt to have one. Definitely appeal!
  13. That is indeed a major change in your before and after. You are beautiful! Congrats on your success!
  14. We're here for all the support you need! Tomorrow will pass by in a haze, and before you know it, you'll be an official post op! I'm three months out from my RNY and I have zero regrets. I think you'll feel the same way. Congrats!
  15. Congrats on an early approval. Hope the surgery date follows just as quickly!
  16. Congrats on your amazing loss! You look great!
  17. Wow! You've definitely come a long way and should be so proud! Congrats!
  18. I'm sorry, I misunderstood. Yes, that does seem like a long time. I would definitely check with your surgeon.
  19. Congrats on the triple digit market!
  20. A good day, and a whole new wonderful life. Congrats!
  21. Thanks for spreading hope to the rest of us. And congrats on your continued success!
  22. pizza Hut pepperoni and cheese's lovers pizza, one of their humongous chocolate Cookies, and Coke Zero. Haven't had any soda, pizza, bread, rice, fast food, candy, or anything else not on my specified post op diet since that day - three months ago. The further out I get, the easier the head hunger becomes.
