  1. I have been reading several posts about ppl going to Mexico to get banded. What is there that makes the procedure worth going? Thanks,
  2. Crystal Light comes in a box and you get packets, 1 per 20 oz bottle..Energy drinks come in cans but not that you can get money for.
  3. Great to hear! I have something to look forward to ...I don't think I will regret it this time..(unlike the first time which I put off).
  4. I haven't been banded yet either, but I started on Crystal Light, and it's AWESOME!! I used to have a coke a day..which even for me every now and then again I like to have. But there are so many varieties in the Crystal Light, I feel like I am drinking healthier anyway.

  10. I feel like I'm hungry all the time now. Now remember, I have not been banded yet. It's not psychological, I am not like I was last year when I felt that the closer I got to my appointment, the more I ate because I knew it'd be my last meal so to speak. Maybe I don't want to drop my BMI or something. I love being on this website, and participating on blogs, and chats. I feel that I have something to offer even though I haven't been through it yet...more to come........K

Of course, those were just guesses..you knowyour body better than me lol...I'm hungry too and havn't been banded LOL..anyway, just keep positive.. (my dream is to retire in Australia (not anytime soon)...I wanted to move there but i dont see it in the cards. Take care Kat
  21. oops, i hope i didnt say PPO there was a co-pay, HMO have co-pays...*sigh* i gotta get some Z's..i'm out of it... night night all... Kat
  22. hi felicia, dont feel bad. my b/f met me when i was "curvatious." I told him about my banding and hes afraid i'll lose too much. its our bodies..they have to realize thats what we need. to feel good about ourselves. remember, its all meant for a reason. If he supports you over the phone, he'll support you in person. just remember, dont have any expectations, and i think it will all work out. Good luck hon...think positive :frown: Kat
  23. with PPO you can go anywhere in the network and no co-pays. with HMO you have to get referals (which are written requests basically) from your primary care physician. A referal can take about 5-7 days. So, lets say I have HMO and I go to my doctor and i say "i want to go to my BMI surgeon, I have a consultation." I have to go see my doctor, get a referal, and THEN go see the surgeon. Thats how it works with HMO. Re your new job: Find out about the benefits. Most new employers and health insurance companies have a waiting period ( I actually work for BCBS..i know what im talking about). for example, 30 days, 90 days etc. before you can become "eligible" or able to take their benefits. some are immediate.
  24. ok, so you can do one of two things. you can do the 6 month supervised dieting (your doctor that you go for the consultation will help you with that). Or you can do what i did. at open enrollment, i changed to HMO, and was approved almost immediately. My open enrollment was in december. yours may be different..find out from your job...it'll be ok.
