Something fun to do for the holidays
Santa Clause North Pole, Earth Dear Santa, I have been a good girl. It really wasn't my fault what happened at Brian's Office party. It was Felicia who spiked the punch with too much Tea. I can't help it if I drank 7 glasses. It was so good---smelled and tasted just like pumpkin pie. I thought it was funny when I put Felicia's shirt on my head and danced the two step on the coffee table while singing `little drummer boy'. I didn't mean to break Brian's television and don't know why Brian would accuse me of murder. I don't remember calling Alan's wife a funny pig---even though she looked like one with green eye shadow and blue lipstick! And when I threw up on Nickie's husband's arm, it was only because I ate too much of that pizza. After all that fun, I admit I was a little tired. So I fell asleep on my way home and drove my lexus through my neighbor's bathroom. I don't think that was any reason for my neighbor to call me a colorful shark and have me arrested for drinking while driving! So, Santa...here I sit in my jail cell on Christmas Eve, all silly and smart. And I'm really not to blame for any of this stinky stuff. Please bring me what I want the most---bail money! Sincerely and slowly yours, Jen (Really a nice girl!) P.S. It's only 8 bucks!</B>

Here's a tip....when working at a strip club, you want to be the first one on the pole, for obvious reasons.

restless leg syndrome
Since this is a new problem for you, it may be your new diet. Sometimes a decrease in potassium will cause leg cramps. Try adding some potassium. You can also get it through orange juice or bananas.

Just checking in
Where is Oak Ridge? I'm in Hendersonville. Hope to be banded in Jan at Vanderbilt. Playing the insurance game now. Good luck to you. I know you are so excited!!
-
Anyone used Vanderbilt
How long have you smoked? Luckily, I don't smoke. I heard on the radio about a laser treatment to help people stop smoking. I think it is being done in Nashville. I'm not sure if ins pays for it or not. I'll be glad to support you, as I know that I'll need all then help I can get, too. I hope this is my last fat Christmas. Next year, I want small clothes for Christmas.

Anyone used Vanderbilt
I live in Hendersonville. I am playing the insurance game now. Had to have 6 months supervised dieting with MD. Hopefully, to be banded in January. I'm using Vanderbilt. Jennifer Ginnings at Vandy says that their banded patients are losing as much as bypass patients. Vandy has been excellent in helping me with the insurance stuff. My husband works at Vandy and we have BC/BS PPO through them. I'm excited for you, too. Please let me know how it goes. I can hardly wait!!!!

Name That Tune
Porclndol, How funny about your mom!! and dad for that matter. If you remain in your seat at a Prince concert (how could you keep from sliding out of your seat? tmi? ) ...than you just should have stayed at home. He is incredible. Yeah, it would serve your husband well to like Prince...at least fake it. My husband now has everything that he ever put out. I forgot... I also went to see Jimmy Buffett. Great concert...I think.

Name That Tune
I've done a little research on the net about Prince. He does need a hip replacement...but is apprehensive about surgery because he is a Jehova's Witness and can't receive blood. Purple Pain. Purple Pain.
-
Name That Tune
I am so sorry to say that about Prince. I was numb. Prince was at the conception of both of our children. Sexy mother...... shakin that... shakin that...I guess he shook it too much. He got his money's worth out of his hips that he was born with. It is a sad day when the man that got you in the mood is having a hip replacement. My husband feels the same way. Well, not that Prince got him in the mood, but it worked for me (which always worked for him). I'd still go see him again, walker and all. I guess some men were just not made to jump and dance all over the stage in high heel boots. Reminds me, I always loved Rick James. Sad to hear that the King of Funk had a major stroke. I think he has since died. Correct me if I'm wrong. How old are we? I'm going to go listen to the Cure, too.

Also, how old are we? Prince is one of the best concerts!! Heard on the news he's going for a HIP REPLACEMENT Makes me feel so old.

Banded Students?
I'm hoping to be banded in January. (Insurance dancing with 6 month diet) I'm a 3rd year law student. I'm hoping to plan my surgery around my class schedule (as much as possible). I'm not telling anybody at school about the surgery. However, I have warned them that "Stella is about to get her groove back" but they have no idea as to how Stella is getting her groove back.

Insurance Question re: Lap Band in KY or TN
You might want to post this under insurance to get more advice. I live in Hendersonville(outside of Nashville) and I'm fighting with my insurance company now...blue loss/ blue sh.. of Tennessee. I think most insurance companies suck. Good luck.

The Game of Insurance
Oh, and one more thing. I have several friends that are docs and they call Cigna....smegma...you look it up.

The Game of Insurance
You are right. It is a BIG game. I feel the same way that you do. I am currently seeing my doctor for 6 months...at their request. It's a catch 22. They will not pay for the visits, if it is labeled as obesity. However, I have to be seen for obesity. Unfortunately, I'm sick every month. I just can't seem to get healthy. It seems like I'm in my doctor's office every month. Seems ridiculous to have to get on the scale and talk about my diet just to be seen about a sinus infection. I hope I'm not sick at the end of this month...like I have been at the end of the last four months. What's a girl to do?

Famous Bandsters?
I agree with itsyvonne about Anna Nicole. I don't think it was trimspa baby. I would guess she went on the coke diet... and I don't mean cola...baby.

6 mo. MD supervised weight loss attempt
Since I started this process, I have been seeing my doc for various things on a monthly basis (just had visit number 3). The nurse at the band seminar advised this because she said that the ins might pull this stunt. Coincidentally, I've really needed to see the doc...had lots of sinus infection problems. Anyway, I always make sure that we discuss my weight and what I'm doing about it. I'm also keeping a food journal. Sure enough, my ins wants to see 6 months of dieting with my doc's supervision. So, I'm looking to have it done after Jan. Bummer. She hasn't written a letter since their denial. We're waiting for my 6 months to be completed. To date, I've lost some...gained some. Just like normal.
