Thats exactly how I feel. I'm not going to tell him, I'm just gonna say its personal. I'm not ashamed of the band what so ever, its just that I feel he won't understand (yes one of those). The only thing I can do is talk to medical when I hand in the paperwork and ask them not to say anything. If they blab, then they blab. I know that when companies say "Privacy" they are full of moose kaka. I've seen it over and over. But I can try. Ivan, I have a LOAD of sick time to take rather than use my vacation. Thats one good thing about the company I work for. But thats a good suggestion, thanks !! Thanks everyone for your advice

Aww you guys are great. I just spoke to my DH at dinner and I told him I am not going to tell my boss. Years ago I had an appendectomy. It was quite complicated as they had to cut me from hip to hip. Anyway, I do have alot of scar tissue that is painful at times, so I think if I feel like I'm starting to cave in, I'll just say I'm having that taken care of. Thanks again, your all the best !!!

Thanks everyone Alatina, the right to privacy (here) is that the paperwork goes through our medical department only, which is nice. Of course you all know that people talk (even the so called right to privacy people) so I'll have to have a little chat with the head of medical that this does not get out. So sorry your parents treat you like that just because of your weight. I talked to my DH about it. He thinks I should tell him, like its no big deal. He just doesn't understand what overweight people go through and how we are descriminated upon. He just thinks the world doesn't judge b/c he doesn't (good guy to bad more people aren't like him). Your opinion please....... I have a new boss, he's been here since November of last year. He was in the military 23 years, very structered, very disciplined. He is handsome, fit, exercises like mad and is the type of person that doesn't want to hear crap... just get the job done kind of guy. I spoke with one girl here at work who I am very close to, and she said that I should not tell him I am getting the band b/c she gets the impression that he will look down on me (she is heavy too). Like he's the type of person that would say (to himself of course).. why can't you just lose the weight, why can't you just have self control. Like I'm wasting company sick time going for something like this thats, to him, not necessary. He does kind of judge people on thier education level, this I have witnessed at work for myself. A part of me feels like she's right but another part feels like she's not. I have to tell him eventually that I'm going out on medical leave and I do have a right to privacy but then I think to myself, what if I get sick or something happens. I'm with this guy more than my family, 40 hrs + a week. I just know when I do tell him I'm going out, he's gonna give me those puppy dog eyes and ask why, are you okay. I'm so gullable too (sigh). He is very hard to read into. What would you do?

EVERYONE !! who says that they haven't motivated anyone. Not true. Looking at all your stats and seeing just how good your doing has really motivated me. When I first came here I was just starting the process, and that was just discussing it with my DH. I've met so many nice people here who are willing to share their ups as well as thier downs. So let me say this again. YOU HAVE ALL MOTIVATED ME (and I'm sure alot more than you realize). THANK YOU !!!!!!!! BTW, me and a girl from work are racing to see who gets the surgery first LOL. Pheeeeeeew, glad thats done. I think the parking was the worst of it all lol. Why is it every time I go some where, something embarassing happens? Okay, my appt was for 12 noon. Which means I had Breakfast at 8:30. By the time I was in the first doc's office it was 1:30 pm. The minute he started asking me about food....blah blah blah... my stomach started growling, and I mean LOUD! I never sweat so much in my life. When I got up off the love seat (love seat for two skinny people, regular chair for my lard ass).. I thought I would have to peal myself off. He was a really nice guy. One question he asked was, does my DH make any comments like "when you get skinny, your gonna look for other guys." So I said to the Doc. Nope, he's never ever said anything like that because this guy has stuck with me through "THICK and THIN" LOL !!!! and he know's how much I love him. What I should have said to the Doc after he asked me that question was "are you asking me out on a date next year?" LOL At the end I asked him if I passed his nutty test. He said yes snort~ Next agggggonizing thing is the nutritionalist on Thursday....

Jack, Only for those non-twisted minds BTW, LOOK AT YOUR STATS, you sexy thang. Congrats !!! The doc's office just called to say they wanted to cancel the appt... I felt my heart sink. There are two doctors that are going to see me today and one could not make it (yeah okay, riiiiiiight) anyhoo. After some whinning and begging I'll still be seeing the one today at noon and the other on Friday afternoon. Nothing like extending my insanity huh EDIT !! The doc's office called again, so the appt's not this Friday its Sept 2nd... OY VEY... pass me a freakin doobie will yah.

Well I go for my nut exam today. I studied real hard yesterday, I even got cheat sheets and notes written on the palm of my hand so wish me luck lol. Ivan, I'll be thinking of you
